Geckota Sea Hunter Dive Watch - Jade Green Bezel
A 40mm diver watch with a lovely vintage aesthetic that will work just as well diving into the ocean as it will deskdiving, has a WR of 200m, A sapphire crystal with AR coating (Underside only), A reliable movement that runs within COSC standard says it all. It’s a watch that punches way over It’s price range and is most definitely worth the money.

Shows how far Chinese movements have come that these are capable of meeting COSC standards. Been tempted by something with a PT5000 for a while but don't think this is the one to make me bite.

It's ETA clone but we Still cannot be sure how they will behave regarding reliability and service. I still think that Geckota as well known brand it's worth a try for such price.

Deffo prefer the Geckota scripted branding to the bloc typeface on my slimline SH. Not sure about adding the date though

I think the price is too much for the specs. Not bad but not amazing.

Having owned one of the £199 Geckota watches for a while now, I'd have to agree. Nice enough watches with reasonable QC and finish. However, I wouldn't pay their asking price for another. Compared to what else is out there, they do seem overpriced to me.

It's also a bit misleading to say it will run 'within COSC standard'. It's often a crap shoot with non-certified movements, and especially the Chinese made ones, at best. If it were correctly regulated and oiled, then it could run within these specs, but it's far from a given considering they aren't actually COSC tested. (edited)

Some of the AE stuff is just incredible value. I luckily got this on sale at £34 shipped, the price tends to fluctuate a bit. Full stainless steel. 200m water resistance. Screw down crown. Sapphire. NH35 movement. Incredible for the money.

You get a better quality watch from San Martin or Cronos for less money. These are nice enough, but overpriced at £350.

So during the design phase do we think they had a Pepsi GMT Master II as reference
    mrcat0000's avatar
yep, lets have a GMT coloured bezel but not the functionality

The 'clone' watches in China are amazing. However it's naughty to own one I expect.

These watches are what seiko were till they went bonkers with their priding model whilst still having sub standard build quality and accuracy. I should know I have 4!
