No idea on the timeline for the Three/Vodafone deal so wouldn't want to bank on taking the deal and being left with not great reception in the interim.
I would rather try o2/vodafone, there is that deal with voda posted yesterday here which is similar to this one I think.
There is still that mind twister, since for £360 you can pick one up off ebay, giff gaff had one for £399 the other day and I think today there is another deal from bt phone for £377 here
