I've had this for a couple of years now and it's been great! Really adds to what's on screen. I'd recommend changing saturation down to 1% as otherwise the colours are a little bit intense and don't reflect accurately what's on the screen.

There's a T2 model now which is supposed to be way better but is double the price.

After a lot of trial and error, I've got mine set just about right.
    Brightness - 15-20%
    Relative brightness - 15-20%,
    Saturation - 14%
White balance - way into the red (to compensate for a faintly blue wall behind)

Won’t buy Govee ever again - both sets on daughters bedroom ceiling failed after less than a year.

    Did you contact them?
I had garden lights that didn't survive a bad storm. Asked for support, they replaced both sets. Were about 2 years old. Came next day, great service considering it was an edge case.

We have lots of govee. Items and all have worked well. We have these with some light bars in the main room and some on the TV in the front room they look great especially when the room is dark and watching a movie.
The T2 with better colour accuracy is but these are still great and look good. They do struggle in a bright room as the light affects what the camera can see on the screen.
Also if you have other govee lights you can connect them so they also react to what's on the TV from this device. (edited)

Can the camera be sat beneath the TV ie sat on top of a soundbar? Or does it have to be on the top?

Top or bottom, just select it in setup. At first you notice the camera, but after a bit you don't. Really enhance your TV in a darkened room
