This is being sold by a most reputable company, check out their other items!
The firm of R. Macleod was established at the beginning of the last century by Roderick Macleod, grandfather of the present owner, Gregor Macleod. In 1956 William Macleod (Gregor's Father) began the shop at its present location at 14 Lamington Street, Tain, Ross-Shire, IV19 1AA, SCOTLAND. Gregor has been in the family business since 1963 and has run the company since his father's retiral along with his wife Violet. The shop has been extended over the years to accommodate the expanding business, with mail order now forming an important part. The business now consists of a gun and fishing tackle shop along with the traditional ironmongers, kitchenware and decorating supplies.

The unit comes with a 3yr warranty, I doubt you will find one with similar specs never mind a range finder built in for this money.

THIS HAS BUILT IN WIFI AND IS CAPABLE OF LIVE STREAMING WIRELESSLY TO A MOBILE PHONE OR TABLET VIA AN APP AVAILABLE FOR ANDROID OR IOS!

The Range TI 35 LRF offers excellent thermal imaging with its 384x288 17µm <35mK NETD thermal sensor and smooth, high resolution viewing with its frost-resistant 1024x768 HD OLED display and 50Hz frame rate.

The Range TI 35 LRF can even perform in conditions where temperature differences are minimal, such as during rain/snowfall, cold mornings, fog, etc.

Offers great optical capabilities with its 35mm objective lens, 10.88x max. magnification, and is capable of detecting distances of up to 1750m. Fitted with a built-in (eyesafe) laser rangefinder capable of accurately measuring distances up to 1000m (±1m).

Battery Life of around 8hrs, rechargeable via USB.

Features photo & video capture with its on-board recorder, with all data being saved directly to the units 32Gb internal memory and can be transmitted wirelessly with the dedicated App.

The distributors are the well know Thomas Jacks: thomasjacks.co.uk/con…LRF

Anyone know how well this balances in one hand with the other hand... occupied. If it helps , the subject (neighbour) is only around 10 yards away. Asking for a friend

What is great about this is that you can use either hand as the laser range finder is built in below the lens, on some the laser finder is a lump at one side of the unit which benefits right handed people, with this one you can swap the hand hold strap to either side which is very useful and keeps your hand steady, I don't know how long you would be holding it for but you could swap hands now and again, depends how long its going to take to finish.......the coffee.

    OK IMPORTANT UPDATE!
This is a fantastic bit of kit, brilliant value as it includes a Laser Range Finder, you will find nothing that comes near it with the spec BUT mine is going back and I am replacing it with a much more expensive Pulsar Axion 2 XQ35 Pro, but could not afford the LRF version so have lost out on that great benefit.

    SO WHAT HAPPENED?
Well as you will have I was out with foxes last nigh playing about and teh kit is BRILLIANT, the live link and view on the iPhone was spot on using the internal wifi, the rage finder was superb and accurate, from the Conotech App on my wife I was able to save videos take pis etc and share as you can see on this thread.

    BUT
I noticed pictures and video I had taken earlier on the unit while not attached to the phone had not appeared in the App, I wanted the pictures so followed the instructions to link direct a PC to extract them, this entailed connecting the micro usb lead to the camera and the USB to the computer, I use and Apple Mac, it also instructed you to turn on the units wifi which I did, but I could not get the file to show up on my computer, it would normally come up as a remote drive. Anyway I fiddled but had no luck so this morning rang the manufacturer in China, they answered the phone straight away spoke great English and directed my enquiry to their technical team, within 30 minutes I had an email informing me that their products DO NOT work with Apple Macs only Windows operating system, although they do work with Apple phones. Well for me that was that, it meant that any images taken on the unit were trapped in its generous 32GB memory (most only give you 16GB).

I have spoken to the retailer who was super helpful and immediately offered a refund, they did not know about the issue with Apple computers, after chatting I decided I still wanted a thermal monocular but unfortunately all the others were a LOT more expensive, so I chose the new Pulsar Axion 2 XQ35 Pro model WITHOUT the LRF as it was way too expensive a toy with it and saved another £300.

SO there you have it, I have shared this to help anyone else as there may have been a rush to buy these, BUT if you don't want to download pics OR have a windows PC you will not be disappointed with it, the manufacturers are one of the smaller ones and compatibility with Apple Macs will come but just not there yet.

My new one arrives tomorrow so can post some pics if anyone is interested, sorry but Pulsar don't do deals on their kit so I'm afraid you will have to stump up £1,639 for the standard or £1,929 for the LRF version of the Axion 2 XQ35 rmacleod.co.uk/pul…23/

I hope that helps and clarifies some issues for people.

Got one recently and when i knocked on the chavy neighbours door, telling them i noticed a lot of heat escaping through their loft, they got all defensive and agitated.

Anyway they seem to have fixed their loft insulation, looks like theres a local scheme on as the police helped them clear the loft first. (edited)

I put my money where my mouth is when I found this deal and bought one today, arrives tomorrow if anyone wants further pics, I doubt whether that last one will be there much longer at that price, its a steal IF you are in the market for one, you won't find one cheaper anywhere!

Pulsars are good but you pay a heavy premium for those, this is fantastic value for what it offers!

Well mine has arrived down at my local
Royal Mail sorting office from Inverness, should be delivered around noon today, looking forward to seeing what I am going to do with this but I’m sure it will have some uses out in the countryside.

I have a couple of thermal imagers and bought the FLIR C3-X last week, that’s a great bit of kit but distance is limited as it’s intended for a different use, may suit some on here

Thanks for that and hope this deal is all you're hoping for, esp as you'll probably get some good use of it being up Inverness, gorgeous part of the world.

Anyway, that Flir you also mention is £353 in 'like new' condition with the extra 20% being offered on that. 6 available currently.

I believe in some areas of the world the same model is known as 'Tracer TI35 LRF' not 'Range TI35 LRF' anyway here is a video from Conotech of some hot pilots to see what capabilities it has.

Sorry I don’t but the technology will be the same, just that you wear it rather than hold it so comfort and correct setting up would be important I guess.

FLIR use MSX technology similar to this, it's even on their small FLIR ONE camera that plugs into your smartphone, IOS and Android available. I have it on my FLIR C3-X as well, it uses a normal camera as well as the thermal camera to overlay and give you the outlines of building, objects people etc.

More info here, unfortunately it's not in this Conotech unit flir.co.uk/dis…sx/

I remember years ago someone telling me they used the one from their lab to perv on the men in the department - as certain parts of the body run slightly hotter than others - effectively giving them x-ray genitalia vision!
    Gadgetdeals's avatar
    Gadgetdeals Author
I guess it takes all sorts, if that's as sad and as childish as they can get then one has to feel sorry for them, there are lots of thermal imaging pictures online if you google. AND you are being filmed everywhere with these from airports to cruise ships to stores to streets, as can be seen by their use during Civid they are great at spotting certain illnesses that raise temperature such as infected areas that are fighting infection and hotter.

You never realised you needed something until you have it, but there is a little bit of common sense required as these are a few bob, I lost that common sense and bought them with absolutely no reason to need them as I have other versions but none with a laser range finder, but I am confident that I will find some good uses, especially at sea.

These will accurately laser measure distance to within 1mtr from 5 - 1,000mtrs, you can clearly identify say a stag up to 1.75km away, these may be overkill for checking your home insulation, maybe look at the Flir C3-X or even the Flir ONE

The replacement Pulsar Axion 2 XQ35 PRO (not to be confused with the non pro model) arrived safely today, I have had a play and it’s also fantastic, OK I have lost the Laser Range Finder but that’s not the end of the world. It’s slightly smaller, has a more comprehensive App the ‘Stream 2’ which works well and totally remote controllable via the App.

    grahamsonline.co.uk/opt…983

This was a lot more money if it hadn’t been for not being able to get my images out as I don’t have a windows PC on the Conotech then that would most certainly have met my needs for the bargain price with the added bonus of a £300 or so LRF built in!
