    Heinz was only formed in 1869. Hardly centuries
    At the end of the day, it is a sodding tomato in a tin.. It isn't "soulfully crafted" it is mushed up and stuck in a tin (edited)

    Some tinned tomatoes are definitely better than others. But in my experience the Italians seem very good at keeping the best ones for themselves in their own brands, and all the inferior ones go into the brands for foreign markets. But that makes some sense, because if you are using them in a curry, it really won't matter, if it's to make a tomato based pasta sauce it's different.
