Personally I think Herman Miller is quite overrated and their chairs look very ugly at home. I went with a refurbished Humanscale which is so comfortable and looks great.

    See here.

Which model of Humanscale did you go for? Need a good chair, but anything over a grand is just a bit too much for me.

serious question to anyone who buys these, are they actually that comfy they warrant the price or isit like buying a gucci sweater it's ok but your paying for rhe name and design ?

They're good and typically last over a decade. Not worth it unless you're going to spend your working life and free time in one.

I sat on a Herman Miller chair at a local office furniture dealer, didn't find it comfortable as I suffer with lower back pain.
I bought a Secretlab Titan Evo, very firm and the lumbar adjustment is 2 way, in and out, and up and down.
It is a very firm chair, OK for me as I don't like chairs that flop about too much. They do it in 3 sizes.
Gaming chair style won't suit everyone.
    Reviews are brilliant. secretlab.co.uk/pag…ews

I have both back problems and nerve damage to one side of my body so sitting for any length of time can be a problem. Having tried a few chairs i managed to grab a used HM Aeron for £500 and it has been worth every penny, at first it seemed no better than any other chair but that was because of the posture i had adopted trying to reduce my pain and once i realised i could sit ‘properly’ in it the difference was amazing. I am actually on it now and have been since 6am which wouldn’t have been possible before. Now the caveat - my wife actually hates it and cant get comfortable at all and to be honest unless i was a hard core gamer spending hours at a time I dont think I could justify the cost for a gaming set up. Best bit of advice i have is at possible try one before you buy but also if you do give yourself a few minutes to ‘adjust’ before deciding.

I wish there was a showroom near me with one!
I also wish they delivered more than 1 business day per week at my location LOL.
The chair I want will remain on my wishlist!

I really should look up where to buy them second hand hmm

They increased the stating price for this AGAIN? Insanity. I always said it was great but they are taking the piss now. £1,570 retail even with sale prices it’s too high (2 HMs + this one I’ve had!)

In before the £50 chair crew check-in. I've had about 7 HMs now and the Embody (w/ Atlas headrest) is what I've stuck with. I can get in 14 hour sessions (which I don't recommend) without feeling like death but then again I'm pretty fit.

I got this with the 25% last time. You're paying the premium for the warranty here. Is it worth it? After the last 3 price hikes, they're taking the biscuit. I'd love to see a cheaper competitor. Alt jump on FB marketplace.

I have the Aeron gaming chair which is just the same as the Aeron but in all black, I suffer from lower back pain and this is the first chair for me that doesn't aggravate it. It is expensive but the warranty length is insane, and the customer service is superb. They will replace/fix no questions asked during this period, they will collect and drop the chair, no questions asked. There are cheaper chairs that probably do the same thing, and may be more suitable or better for you but none that have the same length of warranty and possibly the same level of customer service.

I considered buying one of these a few years ago for Working From Home, and I spoke to friends who also spent a lot of hours at pcs to get opinions as these can be very expensive.

A few of my scandi friends have used these, some work places provided HM but most of them didn't use them with complaints among them being seats not long enough to support tall people, repairs under warranty took a very long time and no replacement was offered and, the one that helped me decide, they tend to sag and push your legs together causing sweaty regions.

I saved money by buying a GT Racing chair and an adjustable monitor arm instead.

I went with a secretlab titan xl 2020 model, it has a flat seat base, had the chair 3 years, it's brilliant, game on it everyday, I've put a cover on it to stop the cat ripping it and have gel cushion arm rests and cushion on it.

I bought one last year on the BF deal. Think it was just over £1k. Very comfortable for all day work & some evening gaming. It doesn’t adjust forward like the aeron so if you are sittg close to edge to get close to screen it can hurt back coxis
