I used lemon and bicarbonate soda on last car headlights work's better than I thought probably just temporary tho. Search on YouTube. WD40 and kitchen roll is supposed to work aswell

The WD40 trick is only a short fix so I wouldn't bother. I bought some turtle Wax headlight Restoration stuff. That has done a good job at cleaning them up.

Sometimes you can get away with using some compound or toothpaste as stupid as it sound

Agreed, have used Autosol on older cars and worked fine

Edit. Heat added though Op as have seen lots of kits like this being sold for silly money. This looks like it might do a job (edited)

Thanks OP. May bite at this price. So many options and opinions online, but I just want to get the job done now rather than think about it anymore.... 😄 It hurts my head

These kits never seem to last long. I have used toothpaste and it worked ,passed the mot ok .
I've seen a mate who will do my head lights, he will take the old lacquer off and buff the headlights then clear coat them with lacquer. should be like new again.

The headlight sealant is pretty rubbish which is why they don't last long. Use 2k lacquer instead of the sealant, it's much better at protecting from UV. Could also take to the next stage by clear wrapping after lacquer.

Need to clean the indicator lenses on the gear selector windows on my road bike as can't see in them at all. Was going to order the sandpaper they recommend and the rubbing compound, wondering if this will do and give me all the stuff.

I hope it is better than turtle wax restoration stuff.

Worked well for 6 months & then back to as before.

Windscreen has fine scratches from over zealous pigeon poo removal. I used some paper! Any tips for removal?

    You tried a hammer?

Anyone tried these kits? Isn't it better and more cost effective to buy the parts separately?

I used the Mguires headlight restoration back in 2017 and it was such a good purchase. The lights still look clean and near good as new. Was genuinely surprised but I did use a fair bit of fine sandpaper on them for a good 30 mins (edited)

Used this kit on mine over 18 months ago. Great stuff. They're starting to cloud again ever so slightly now, nothing like it was before, so I'll give them another buff and seal again soon. Plenty left from last time. Mine were really bad when I bought the car too.
