Or use an old washing machine drum!

...and for the complete homeless experience, burn pairs of old discarded shoes in place of wood.

Currys have a washing machine for £147….buy that, nick the drum and save £120+ 🤷🏼‍♂️

Smokeless fire pits are around for a better price than this. They do work well, only drawback is that you don't get a lot of heat at lower leg level. Some have a metal 'hat' to combat this problem..
Best time to buy is late summer, discounts to be found on FB etc. (edited)

I agree with this statement, they look great but are not great heat providers unless you use a deflector. I have tested many fire pits over the years and the best ones are the gas bottle wood burners. The are basically converted gas bottles and the chimney ensure a relatively smokelss heat source.

These are really good, and in the US sell a lot. It’s nothing like an old washing machine, more like a clear smokeless log burner for the garden. (edited)

Personally i find an open bowl low level fire pit radiates much more heat plus you can burn much larger logs which can overhang if required. cast iron would be my preference and can be had for 30-60 £. These look nice but direct the heat up and its only smokeless if the logs are below the inner level so fussy too.
