Voted hot even though I am not a fan of HP! Yes, old specs. But this is a business laptop, quite premium build in comparison with other HP models. I've not looked properly at it, but at £99, regardless of possible negatives such as the screen, I think it is a good deal.

I think the price on the deal should change from £110 to £99 as per description. A pop-up showed up while looking at it, 10% off if you sign for their newsletter. (edited)

A cracking price for anyone wanting to try out a Linux distro. I had even earlier one of these, scrapped Windows and loaded Ubuntu. It ran extremely fast and as alluded to, it's a business laptop - pretty bullet proof.

We still have a few of these kicking about in the business I work for - solid devices, generally the only reason they're coming back for repairs is battery faults (which just comes with the age!). Perfectly adequate for the lighter users. Also worth noting you can pick up the "HP Ultraslim" docking stations that work with these for next to nothing at CEX if you're wanting to use in a productivity scenario. (edited)

I bought these for my kids to do their homework on - Fortnite will load, but "plays" as a series of slides!
Roblox & StarCraft work fine on it along with MAME and almost every pre 6th gen console emulator.
(Just checked my kids have the larger screen 840 varient - can be had for around the same price)
    Heat added! (edited)

Not a great choice if you want Windows 11. Unless of course you are going to use the hacks to get it to install.

The 820 G3 is what I use every day - fantastic laptop.
Also, it can take 2 hard drives - 1 M.2 for boot, and 1 SATA SSD for data.

Damn I bought this laptop around 5 years ago on a whim for £250 but my god it still works flawlessly. Battery capacity has diminished but it still does the job
