sorted byI'm using a Lenovo right now but had a good experience with the 4 omens in the household we have owned so would go back in future if it was the best option at purchase again. (edited)
O16 is 115w limited
O17 is 140w
Honestly the thing I hate most about omen laptops is the fact that they power limit their laptops and STILL overheat.
In comparison, my AW M15 r4 is thinner, weighs lesser, and still has a max wattage GPU and unlocked wattage CPU...
Anyway afaik the omen 16 models of 2022 do have Advanced Optimus (atleast they did in the 3070 and 3060 models), so that's not a problem anymore.
Build and aesthetic are great though, and that qhd display is wonderful to look at.

After sending mine in for warranty repair it came back to me with the same defect and scratches that it did not have before.

£971.63????
Just wary of the comments about overheating, keyboard and trackpad issues…. Are these the reasons for the ‘perfect’ spec at this price-point….?
maybe 50w?
The main complaint with this seems to be the fans constantly spinning-up and the laptop overheating. To lessen the impact of this, would it be better to play games on lower settings and perhaps stick to 1080p resolution. I know that kind defeats the point of having higher specs to some extent, but he's quite young and I don't think he'd mind the loss of visual fidelity if the fans were less annoying.
Also, if this is connected up to a bigger screen, with the laptop screen off/closed, is that likely to affect the thermals?
My laptop stays cool even when everything is cranked up to the max. GPU floats around 55c and the CPU around 70- 75c
ps anyone have issue with 2nd monitor limited to 49.99 / 50 hz?
