The cheapest CPU with the new Raptor Lake cores. 5.1GHz on all P cores out of the box.

NEXT LEVEL PERFORMANCE
Say hello to Raptor-Lake Intel's incredible 13th generation processors are hear to break the boundaries of modern day processing power. Now with up to 14 cores (6 Performance-cores and 8 Efficient-cores) and up to 20 threads, plus Performance-cores are capable of reaching 5.1 GHz with Intel® Thermal Velocity Boost to elevate performance. Intel® Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.07 further strengthens lightly threaded performance by identifying the best-performing Performance-cores. Meanwhile, additional E-cores enable an increase in Intel® Smart Cache (L3) for more efficient processing of larger data sets and better performance. The P-core and E-core L2 cache has also increased compared to the previous generation of Intel® processors, minimizing the amount of time spent swapping data between cache and memory to speed up your workflow.1 Unleash the power of next-level performance with the 13th Gen Intel® Core™ desktop processor advantage.

Horrific price for a SIX core processor- and in no world is this "future proof" if you game. The e-waste cores are USELESS for gaming, having many essential hardware instructions literally removed from the core design. Unreal 5, the future game engine for a record number of AAA devs, eats (real) cores for breakfast.

Meanwhile AMD has new c-cores coming for some Zen 5 chips. They have exactly the SAME hardware functionality as the non-c-cores, and are perfect for gaming and non-gaming applications. Also this Intel part burns hotter than the Sun- reminds me of the Intel Netburst disaster.

Actually this is a great price for a fantastic processor. In multi threaded tasks two E cores are about equal to one P core - so this CPU has the approximate performance of 10 AMD Zen 4 cores, while costing less than an 8 core Ryzen 7 7700.

The i5 doesn't support AVX512 instructions, but those are useless for 99% of the users anyway. It consumes around 140-150W in a synthetic benchmark like Cinebench R23, so easy to cool with a good air cooler (i7 and i9 require an AIO or custom water to work without throtling in Cinebench).

AM5 is a very good platform and has a couple of advantages:
    1. Slightly better performance in games.
    2. Better upgrade path - it will probably support Ryzen 8000 and 9000 series. Intel LGA1700 upgrade path ends with RLR (Raptor Lake Refresh), which will come out end of this year and start of next.

But Intel also has strong points:
    1. Better performance in non-gaming multi threaded applications, due to the E cores.
    2. Lower idle power consumption, due to the E cores (the CPU can consume as much as 5-6W when idle).
    3. Support for DDR4 memory - which is still cheaper than DDR5 and if one already has a good DDR4 kit, he can re-use it.
