Got this a couple years ago. Its really good base is mental! But the annoying thing to note here is that, the smaller subs only charge when the soundbar is in standby (once you connect them to the main sub). Can be very annoying if you run out of juice on the smaller ones as you have to put the soundbar to standby to get the smaller ones charged up

You can plug them in via usb, that’s what I do. Handy when the couch has usb ports so it works and charges at the same time.

Wanted one of these for ages. Is it as good as it sounds 🤡?

It's a great piece of kit, especially for that price. Just don't expect cinema style Atmos effects, don't get me wrong it does a great job of it and you can hear stuff over head but that effect won't blow up ou away! The rest is amazing. The rear speakers, the sub andain bar all deliver what you would expect.

I love mine. Got it end of July 2020

The only thing of note (It's not happened for ages, presumably software fixes) - it used to crash.

Mine still crashes lol a quick unplug and replug sorts it out... But it's still annoying when it happens

Best thing I ever bought. Couldn’t go back to movies without this now. Not a sound expert but have had a few systems and this with Dolby Atmos 👌🏻

I got mine last month. Sounds amazing with pant (poo)ing levels of bass.

One one though, the surrounds buzz when the unit is off and they are charging (red light). Quick web search throws up that this is normal. Can't say it bothers me too much, but can be annoying if you like to sit in silence and don't want to go switching **** off at the wall.

Also, only one input, so unless you have eARC on your TV you'll be limited to that one input for the full format support.

I've got the JBL Bar 1000 which is the new revamped direct replacement for this 9.1 (which is now being discontinued).

If the 9.1 is even remotely close to the 1000 in terms of sound quality, it'll be bloody fantastic.

With the JBL 1000, Dolby Atmos blu rays, and even Atmos Netflix content sounds absolutely brilliant and I can highly recommend it. The satellites run for a good 8-10 hours before needing to be connected for recharging.

Its good enough in that I don't feel the need to upgrade until it dies. The sound is excellent and it works like it's supposed to i.e. no speaker disconnects etc. I believe the new one does have much better management and control via an app, this is something some of us were calling out for way back when.

This or the Samsung Q930B? Similar price with the current Samsung cashback offer.
    VanillaGuy's avatar
I went for the Q930B for a much lower price - £374 after 25% off voucher + cashback compare to this. Much better value I'd say.

Soundbar still going strong against the competition

Only a Sonos fanboi will pay more for an Arc that has no subwoofer, no surrounds or rear ATMOS Must love paying brand tax (edited)

Voted hot. But I think you'll get a better deal with Samsung 930B if you manage to grab it at a good price. OOS at Samsung, but with 25% off Facebook code and £300 cashback, that was an amazing deal at about £350. I think you still can get it for about £500. You'll get a 9.1.4 vs a 9.1 which is 5.1.4. You will need a decent HDMI 2.0 cable. I have this. It's good for what it is.

I've got this neighbour complaint when it's on vol 10 bass 3. So have moved it to other side of the room.

I'm sure I paid less than this 2 years ago when I got mine, although that was bundled with a TV purchase. Anyway, it's still great. Surround sound when wanted and it keeps the wife happy with lack of clutter. The new model looks really savage but I won't replace this until it dies.

I’ve had mine for a few years, beast. Paid a lot less than this also. Was a Currys deal buy with a tv but the surround for the Samsung frame tv counted as a tv. Bought that and returned, got this for about £475

Thoughts on the module battery operated tweeters?
    BillRawls's avatar
The surrounds? They're excellent and its a feature that suits us perfectly i.e. busy living room with kids wrecking the place and wife would not be happy with permanently placed speakers. 80% of the time they live as part of the SB, then when I want to watch something with surround sound, they get moved into place. I would assume the battery has degraded since purchase but with current use, I'll likely never know by how much.

Mines arrived today I bought a Bose soundbar a few weeks back for £700 didn't like it at all. I love this already seems well worth the money easy to use and setup as well.

I bought one last year to replace my disappointing Sky Soundbox. It works so well for me. At this price it’s worth every penny. (edited)
