    Lovely if you like standing/sitting around a smoke pit.
    for similar money you could buy an upcycled washing machine fire pit and it will deliver a better fire and won’t develop as much smelly smoke.

    Yes. You put wood in this fire pit. Use hardwood kiln dried along with some smaller kindling and one or two natural firelighters.
    Try to source your timber locally from a supplier of split logs for the best prices. Small offcuts from the timber yards are great too.

    Just bear in mind, if you have close neighbours. From our local council website:-

    "Smoke nuisance
    Fires can be classed as a statutory nuisance if they are held frequently and if they interfere with the normal use and enjoyment of a neighbour's property."
    Common sense and decency really, but some people might need reminding?
