I was going to build a PC with a 4080/7900XTX, 4090 is a bit out of budget. Now this comes along to throw a spanner in the mix. Am I correct in saying this mobile 4090 is on the same level as a desktop 4080?

Edit: on research the mobile 4090 sits behind the 4080, probably more last gen 3080/3090. In conclusion I’ll stick with my desktop build. Still, lovely laptop. (edited)

WTH! I literally got my delivery date today for this exact spec after ordering on bank holiday Monday only for it to drop another 5%??! I'm tempted to refuse delivery and reorder the damn thing! (edited)

Only if they build a laptop based on real or close to real GPU chip.

The 'real' ones require a lot of power and therefore run hotter.

Unless you want a massive brick of a laptop you ain't cooling that so it's never going to be worth.
