    Minimum 2 Hours Standby!

Not even powered up but standby. Doesn't seem like much of a guarentee of a semi-decent battery.

They are covering the minimum really, these will be ex-Corporate machines that have come off lease in their thousands. Guess they can't individually list every laptop separately so they cover the minimum.

Chances are you'll get more than this.

these are all exp business use machines that are on docks most of the time what still charge even when full so a lot of battery fade.

my laptops get really heavy use, 12hrs a day when i am working - when new the battery might last 8-10hrs - I've actually got 10hrs on a new laptop!
but after a few years i only get 1-2hrs battery. YMMV of course depending on how much work each user actually did!

I know nothing about windows laptops having always used a MacBook. But my wife requires a windows laptop for school (she’s a teacher and guess what the school/government don’t supply). Before we were married she was duped into buying this huge bulky HP Pavilion machine with 2tb and a DVD RW! It’s so slow to start up despite having nothing on it and so bulky that along with the books makes it difficult to carry around. So we are looking for something cheap, light and whizzy for essentially running office programmes and a few school based ones. Would this do the trick?

Yes but there are cheaper ones from the same seller (posted in hukd) that would also be fine for running office and school apps. Unless she needs to crunch a load of heavy data the 8gb RAM models will do the job with ease

Have one of these from a previous deal and they’re still capable laptops and the last with 2 batteries. Quite amazed though at how a bit higher prices you get some newer ones if you struggle to look a bit at cex, etc if do not care on the removabable batteries or lenevo build

A lot of laptop for the money. Built like tanks, these were my goto when I had kids of school age. One of these every 3 years or so...
