I've got this guy's, it's the best purchase I made..paid this price too.
Was either a 4k at 75hz or this. Went for this. Vesa mount also there too, and it also can fit a soundbar bracket which I can link you to. May need a long screw or some washers but it's amazing what I did. Amazing quality with many settings to adjust and modes available.

    Cracking price just missing Gsync

From Rtings: "supports FreeSync VRR technology, and is G-SYNC compatible."

I get the G-Sync popup when I turn my monitor on, so it's not missing.

A very good size for immersive gaming backed up with an impressive refresh rate.
    Nice find, hot from me

Except the 'refresh' rate is false. The VA cells cannot change anywhere near this quickly. LG has a true IPS display with otherwise the same specs, and it costs at least 100 quid more- wanna guess why?

It's VA, so NO, it does not do 165 Hz, or even 100Hz. VA LCD cells cannot switch anywhere near this speed.

So how do they get away with the LIE. The answer is that the switching transistor does work at 165Hz. You don't 'see' the switching transistor. You see light through the LCD cell. And a VA LCD cell doesn't even make 60Hz. Good for video content (high contrast, deep blacks), OK for desktop work (if the blurring on scrolling doesn't bother you). Lousy for gaming (and those that post these 'deals' know this.

There was an HONEST 75Hz AOC IPS monitor posted yesterday for less. For gaming, it would be better in every way.

Is it normal if I can't tell between 60fps and 120fps while gaming using a controller, apart from games not slowing down anymore because when the fps temporarily drops it's still over 60fps.

Some people are more sensitive to changes in frame rate than others - personally I find the difference between 60 and 120 to be quite noticeable (but far less obvious) with a controller and motion blur on.

Switch to kb & m and/or turn off motion blur and the difference is night and day.

Got this in the last deal, the ghosting is horrific, I’m using it to just watch media now, went back to my 7 year old TN monitor over this for gaming.  (edited)

I just got AOC for £149.99 IPS screen but for some reason I can't post link or my account has a ban?

Where is that one available from?

I've had this monitor since it was first sold in the UK by Overclockers. Rtings have a review of it if you want all the tech details.

Personally, I've not noticed any technical issues, the only problem I have is the god awful V shaped stand.

Need a monitor for PS5 play, should I pull the trigger on this one?
    colonelswag's avatar
It's cheap and a good spec so I'd recommend it

Would this or msi optix mag301cr2 be a better option for my xbox one?

1ms MBR - Incredible Speed to Victory
1ms MBR helps smooth gameplay, reducing blur and ghosting. Dynamic and fast-paced objects amidst all the action can give gamers a competitive edge.

Ignore that MBR (otherwise known as MPRT, VBR, etc) is nothing but a marketing scam.
It requires backlight strobing, looks awful and will likely give you a headache.

The true response time of this monitor is 5ms GTG.
On a cheap VA panel that's not great, you'll get some ghosting/Black smearing.
Having looked at the Rtings review you get less Black smearing at 120Hz.

    But, it is cheap.

Colour accuracy is very good and brightness is OK.

    The review is here -
