The catch is that it's a bit of a weird product depending on what you use it with.
It's a great 4K 144hz monitor, but as an IPS, it is an abysmal HDR display. I daily run 2 LG monitors from this line, they're great monitors, good for a mix of gaming/work, but the HDR is so bad it looks worse than SDR and I keep it off.

If you're gaming on a low or mid-end PC, or a PS5/XSX, you're never gonna reach native 4K at 144fps in games, better off just going with a 1440p monitor and save the extra cash. I'd only buy this if I also was doing lots of work/coding, as the 4K resolution does make the text a lot nicer.
But if you have a high-end PC that can push these frames... you can probably also just afford an OLED monitor that is way better than IPS.

Do not buy if you are looking for decent hdr

Correct me if Im wrong. But isn't true/real good HDR only available on OLED TVs and Monitors and high end MiniLEDs.

Do people actually buy IPS or VA monitors for HDR?

    4k @ 144Hz. Wow

This also has HDMI 2.1 which is great for XSX and PS5 to play at 4K at 120Hz output with VRR

I have LG 27GP950 which is the predecessor to this model back in 2022 and it suffers from horrible backlight bleed.

If anyone gets this, lmk how it is. I know it varies for every monitor but a lot of peope with 27GP950 like myself have reported the awful backlight bleed (edited)

I bought a 27GR95U when my 27GP950 was having its screen replaced and it had way more uniform backlighting.

This 93 variant isn't NANO IPS like ours though but I reckon the have fitted a 95U screen in my 950 as the backlight is as uniform as the 95U I sent back.
