Seems like a great price for a car battery this size. It has £30 knocked off, normally there are lots of voucher codes floating around for this site too.

Do not buy these, had to get it replaced twice, eventually had to use an alternative brand.

24 individual 5-star reviews in eurocarparts contradicts what people have said here ... I've had it on my car for the last 4 years never had an issue with it (edited)

I bought a brand new lion battery and it was faulty and smoking on the first day of installation. I’d advise to spend that little extra on a better battery.

Just replaced a Lion battery this week after it died after not being used for a week - had it about 3 years. Mechanic said it was a horrible budget brand from Euro Car Parts - he said go with Varta or Bosch.

Hope people don’t confuse the make with battery technology

My thought exactly. Make you think if the name was placed like that by design or coincidence. Missleading, in my humble oppinon.

Might want to add 017 to title so people know the battery size.

I had a lion battery in my Ford focus for 10 years and it was still performing like new even when I scrapped the car.

Maybe the use case needs to suit the battery??

The only battery I would buy would have to have a 5 year warranty on it. Bosch S5/ Varta etc.

In this dark age of planned obsolescence, buying anything else would be foolish.

Lead Acid car batteries have always had an expected life of between 3-5 years
Considering the Bosch version of this costs nearly 3x as much with the same 3 yr guarantee, I think Id go for this one
Some last longer - some last shorter (edited)

If your fitting it to a boggo fiesta/corsa etc with hardly any electronics and an engine thats more suited to a lawnmower it will probably be fine, try it on a higher end car with loads of electronics, a proper engine, add a motion sensor dashcam etc and you will find out they are indeed rubbish, if you want a high quality battery then buy a Varta

bought a Varta in 2020 a silver start/stop AGM that was very expensive. It's now refusing to hold a charge in 2023. The previous battery lasted 6 years.

Rather have a lion bar 🍫

I rely on my car and often sit with the ignition on... often until the car complains the battery is running out. I've fitted the Bosch / Varta / Exide. I've also had Lion's and whatever the cheapest option was from eBay.

I only buy the cheapest battery now that's of the correct spec. All last around the same amount of time but sometimes noticed the cheap batteries lasted LONGER somehow. Lead acid batteries aren't new. Invented in late 1800's, even the Chinese can't screw it up now!

    Good for a tesla?
    elonmusk's avatar
yes, why not. 88AH x 12 v ~ 1 KWH. So all you need are 60 batteries and a car roof made of titanium to carry them around. (edited)

I've had a Lion battery in my focus for 8 years & it's given me no trouble at all.
Not bad , considering car batteries (in my 20 years experience as an AA patrol) often only last for about 5 years . (edited)

The LION batteries I have bought have lasted a long time - over 7 years each, some made it to 10. Amazing value for money, 3 years no quibble warranty weeds out the odd bad one.

DriveTec batteries from GSF seem to be pretty good, they are made in the same factory as Yuasa batteries and look indentical , marks on casing etc. They are a good price when they have an offer on. Bought two 6 months ago for two of my cars.
Bought a Lion once and it didn't last at all after being replaced once but to be fair I wasn't using the car much and it had went flat a few times, might be ok if used every day.

I've heard (not sure if it's true) that Halfords batteries are white-label Yuasa batteries.
