Here's a picture of the satellite finder. Note that it doesn't mention batteries, so will need the output end to be connected to the satellite receiver in order to work. Which can be a bit of a pain, if you haven't yet run the cable (in case there isn't enough signal where you plan to put it...so might need to rethink). You can always make up a battery pack - 6AAs should do nicely.

These finders are extremely easy to kill - so touch the outer of the cable connector to the outer of the finder connector first, before plugging the connector in. Don't let the centre pin connect first, initially.
Heat added - they are usually two or three times this price.

Thanks for clarifying that. I already have a Martindale Socket Tester but this one for the cost looks quite good. As long as it does the job.

Worth having a socket tester if you camp in Europe - some campsites have swapped live/neutral which is dangerous.
You can buy (or make) reverse polarity adapters to correct this.

They do it on purpose? Why?

My mistake.... the beep is not mentioned in the description - I saw it in an online user manual :

Guess we'll find out next week !!

If I buy one of these and plug it in and then hit "RCD test" will it trip the breaker for that circuit? I'm thinking of using it to find which sockets are connected to which fuse as some of them aren't labelled.

Yes, that's their purpose.... Of course your breaker has to be working properly

Note this one doesn't have a buzzer (probably the most useful feature these type of devices have).
