March 2024 booking deal for a break to New York for two people working out at £557 per person for 4 nights (£614pp inc resort fees) or £583 per person for a longer 5 night break (£653 inc Resort Fees). Includes BA flights, 23kg bags and staying at the 4* IHG Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York. The flights are direct flights from Gatwick to JFK. Seems a very good price given that the base accommodation cost excluding flights would cost nearly £1000 for 4 nights. There is also a deal for the Riu Plaza which looks another good option

"Resort Fees"- paying for the unused gym and "free" WiFi (actually, it was because they had a computer in the lobby that people could use instead for business)

These can be disputed. There's a whole thread on it, on flyertalk

When did BA start offering flights + hotel bundles? I thought they only sell flights

Riu Plaza New York Times Square is another option, slightly more for March dates compared to hotel Indigo but also includes breakfast, from £620 pp for 4 nights accommodation with breakfast and flights/checked baggage (resort fee is 33 dollars a night payable to the hotel).

    It’s an ok deal.

wait for the BA sale. I pay no more than £550 each for school holiday time, 2 adults / 2 kids, 5 nights,

    go most years.
we go this October half term again, £530 each for 5 of us. 5 nights. From Heathrow.

    booked in BA sale.

plus, this is from Gatwick. Alright for the 5% of the country below it, the rest of us, it’s a right pain to get to. (edited)

I don't get on with the BA website. If I change this search to include a 4yo and a baby it doubles the cost, even though that's all in one room and it'd only use 3 seats on the plane. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi guys. Looking to go explore new York. I have had family go from my immediate side to my wife's side with mixed reviews.

Is this worth it? Should i go?! Is March a decent time to go in too?
    Robdk's avatar
I don't think anyone else can tell you if it's worth it or if you should go. It's obviously one of most visited cities in the world for a reason. It's also really, really expensive.

I've only been once and I really liked it. I plan to go back as I only covered a fraction of it in 5 nights. I went in March and had 3 really nice days and 1 cold, wet day. It's a good time to go because it's generally cheaper but the weather is unpredictable.

What are the negatives you've heard from people and what do you think you'll enjoy about it?

Went to review the bundle and it said the price has changed (significantly). Meh.
Checked tripadvisor and the hotel has had a lot of really horrendous reviews as of recent.
