I’ve worn these Merrells for years and I had no idea that’s what GTX meant. I suppose now it’s obvious, but it wasn’t to me.
    Thanks (edited)

Merrell walking shoes are very comfortable but I have not found them very long lasting. Don't forget to size up. I am 9 or 9.5 normally but need a size 10 in Merrell shoes

I've heard about durability issues a lot but I bought a pair of MQM Flex in 2019 and only threw them out this year when the soles were basically flat. I must have put around 1500 miles on them and there wasn't so much as a loose stitch.

Doesn't seem that special a price for the non GTX version, IMO.

I would have agreed with you after remembering I bought these for £41 through a deal on here, but looking at my Amazon purchase history it was 5 years ago so can't really decide if the current price is good but I'm not interested in buying at this price. (edited)

My £75 Merrell running shoes fell apart in 2 short walks on forest paths, I'd avoid Merrell like the plague.

Used them for 20 years, they are now cheap imitations of what they used to be!

Interesting regarding durability. I must’ve lucked out. I’ve owned a pair of the GTX versions of these for must be 5years at least and they’ve only this year started to crack on the typical flex point around the toe joint on the sides of the shoes. And they’ve been worn a lot, mostly for the first 3years and on and off the last few. Never looked after.

I had an older Merrell pair and they lasted years, they're still decently together, I think the quality has fallen off drastically in recent years

As a vegetarian I loved the Merrell chameleon wrap slams until they stopped producing them, unfortunately now their options are suede or foam running crap. End of rant.

I have these, they are awful.

Initially, I thought they were comfortable then the inside of the shoe at the heel started to wear down quickly, after only 1 month of use.

Because of the absence of cushioning, the friction started to wear out my socks at the heel too.

Stopped wearing them after 2 months, with 4 pairs of socks in the bin before I even realised!
