The VECTIV™ Fastpack Mid FUTURELIGHT™ Hiking Boots are as durable as traditional hiking boots but as light as shoes. They're fully waterproof and breathable thanks to a FUTURELIGHT™ membrane, which protects against sudden downpours, muddy puddles and wet conditions. They also feature Surface Control™ rubber outsoles that are optimised for hiking over slabby ground and scree-covered rock. What's more, midsole rocker geometry is designed to propel you forward with every step, helping you to push your limits when it comes to speed, distance and incline. Are these any good compared to Salomon etc?

North Face usually know what they're doing. I want something to walk the dog in and not get wet and then run muddy trails when I need to and so these seem to cover that as not too heavy. I can see some positive reviews for the normal cut trainers

I got these but had to return them as the toe box was tiny. Not enough space and I’m not wide.

Same. Very narrow also wasn’t used to the rocker. Almost felt like I was unstable. As someone with weak ankle ligaments it just wasn’t for me despite really looking forward to trying them out
