I literally ordered this for my kids bday yesterday

Would argos refund the difference if i ring them?
Or would I have to return it and reorder it?

    For anyone else reading this

I phoned them and they said they will give me a "price difference refund" but can only do it once the item has actually been delivered

So I'll ring back once it's in hand and see if they keep their word, 3 stops away apparently

From bitter experince I'd be tempted to purchase the Argos 3yr accidental damage warranty for £32 if using with kids......or maybe it is just mine!

I always recommend getting insurance on these, I look after mine and have never had to claim, but I know that they're easy to damage either by general usage (knocks and bumps), or by sunlight (screen burns from magnified sunlight through the lenses).

If you're a heavy VR user, you may also suffer from stick drift after a while too, so having insurance is handy.

Perfect timing as had a £15 cashback offer for selected retailers (including Argos) from Quidco this morning. Can't say no for essentially £185.

I would return it and get it from john lewis.

what's it like watching movies on this? Is it better than on TV?
    Dribbles_MacTavish's avatar
Watching Amazon Prime Video on this is quite good (you sit in a virtual cinema), but if you use the stock headstrap, you will find that it feels quite heavy on your face after a while of just watching films.

3D films are great in VR (much better than on a 3D TV), you can download them to the headset from a PC or some VR players allow you to use a USB C stick in the headset to play films.

Do you need a desktop powerful gaming PC to work with this or will a laptop be enough?

This or Pico 4? Or if you already have a psvr is there any point in either other than the wireless portability (edited)

I had 2020 laptop with 1660ti and most stuff ran very well on mid settings

Fatiguing on the eyes. Invest in better tech and your eyes will thank you long term.

For people asking this is a standalone device. You dont need any PC at all for it. However if you have a gaming PC you can even play PCVR games on it.

Requirements for Steam games (from the discussion I created):
"Steam often specifies a GTX 970 (1060/1650) or above as a minimum graphics card for games (tomshardware.com/rev…tml). Meta suggests a GTX 1650 Super or 1060 6GB"
