Currently a lot cheaper to buy 4.8m lengths from Travis Perkins if you’re doing a larger job. They’re around £10.50 and free delivery over £100.

I want to build a small budget decking area as a diy project (doesn’t need to be amazing quality) so was looking at these. What size timber should I use for the frame please? (edited)

Different lengths available or could go for this size (45x145mm) for more strength.

Again different lengths available, also other companies maybe cheaper but where ever you go try and pick the timber yourself if possible as if it's delivered you may end up with "banana" or "dogs hind legs" shapes (edited)

This is a tiny cross-section. You really want 32x125mm minimum for timber decking boards.

The width is correct at 120mm as they would use 123/125mm sawn boards, usually it's 27/28mm thickness so yes these are a little thinner.

just checked a few places and most seem to be 25mm these days, B&Q do a 24mm/28mm/32mm x 120 so must have changed since i last worked at a timber yard (edited)
