So......never having actually used any of these Supermarket cafes before....................is there a publicly accepted best or have they all got Pro's and Con's? (Not wanting to start a troll war on this though.....just interested (y)).

I have seen the likes of these in Morrisons, Tescos and even Dunelm etc.

Not that I'm a supermarket cafe connoisseur, but in my experience it very much depends on the staff at each store so it's a bit of pot luck. For example, we've two Morrisons equidistant from us. Both have the same menu at the same prices but one is shocking and the other is pretty good.
Sainsburys aren't generally too bad (though not as pleasant an eat since they reopened post Covid and they culled most of the menu). I've yet to find an Asda cafe I've liked, though when the kids were younger their butty bags were pretty good value. One of the surprisingly reasonable ones I've been to within the last 12m is the cafe in The Range. Their jacket spuds are pretty good value and quite often they have cake offers in the afternoons if you're wanting a hot drink. M&S are generally okay too, though you're not getting the same lower prices as other places on food. (edited)

They ramped up the prices post-Covid and the quality nosedived. Now they're taking a bit off the prices and bigging it up as a price cut. They used to be good value for a no fuss, solid meal but they've got some work to do to get back to those days.

I agree wholeheartedly and it's not just the cafe department that needs attention.

No expiry HotUKDeals just requires you to put when deal or offer ends as this technically isn't an offer or deal and is just a roll back on prices its ongoing until inflation changes their mind.

I don’t usually give negative food reviews however I used to like going to Morrisons cafe but I am becoming disappointed with my local cafe. Killingworth Newcastle. I mainly go because of the kids eat free but the food has gone down in quality. Deep fried fish fingers, deep fried sausages. Tasting of fat and not what they should be. Half hour waits to get your food. Limited menu compared to what it used to be. No kids mac n cheese. My daughter asked for beans instead of peas but they took no notice and gave her peas anyway. They are trying I think but overall service is mediocre and food has gone downhill, while prices have gone up.

Having said that I went to both Tesco and Wilkinsons cafe recently and they weren’t much better either. If at all. (edited)
