Pack of 3 with an option to apply 15% off and if you do S&S, comes out to be £2.37 for 3 tins. I was getting 6 tins for £4.74 previously so using this offer I was able to do the same.

Might be useful for others.

Mutti has been processing tomatoes with passion for over 100 years. Its products are made exclusively of Italian tomatoes, with scrupulous supervision of the entire production chain: from selection of the most suitable varieties to inspection in the field, up to harvesting and bottling. Ideal for cooking long at high temperatures, but also suitable for using uncooked, thanks to its fresh, fragrant flavour. Excellent for sauces, stews and soups, or even bruschetta.

  • Mutti Polpa is made exclusively with sun-ripened 100% Italian tomatoes and a pinch of salt
  • The best tomatoes are picked when perfectly ripe, cold crushed, and processed with patented technique to capture the flavour of just-harvested tomatoes
  • It keeps all the freshness of just-harvested tomatoes
  • It is a unique product that combines the finely cut pulpy part of the tomato with the juice
  • Prepared without additives or preservatives

3 pack, the new 4 pack!

Matching Morrisons for 99p a tin.
Or Waitrose have 6 for £5.50 if it helps.

Mutti tomatoes are good, however this polpa stuff is classic shrinkflation territory, i wouldn't be surprised if it was the washed down residues from their equipment which produces the standard chopped tomatoes. It has a very high water content and doesn't seem to be as rich with tomato. I've had a couple of tins of it when it was on offer in sainsburys but I've gone back to other brands of plum tomatoes, at least I know I'm getting the better quality tomatoes when they're whole.

They are 99.8% tomatoes, is 0.2% a high water content?

    6 cans for £4.14 (2 orders). Thanks!
    sashforth's avatar
Yes, unusual to be allowed to use the tick box discount more than once.

I agree that more expensive pasta tastes better but is there a noticeable difference for chopped tomatoes? I love making a good pasta sauce.

If you are making a sauce that is predominantly tomato flavoured then use good tomatoes - These are excellent, Pelati even better and the San Marzano are amazing but eye wateringly expensive.

If you are cooking something where the tomato is the backing flavour such as a curry then I would go with cheaper tomatoes and some tomato puree.

Are tomatoes not just tomatoes? Usually buy Morrisons own. 4 pack for £2 at moment. Or Napoli if on an offer and cheaper
    ersen1's avatar
Nope because mutti is 99.8% tomatoes, Morrisons is 60%

That’s the whole hype for this product

2.52 for me s&s not showing anyway you can apply 15% on each separate order , so still a good price.
    sashforth's avatar
S&S often disappears when they run low on stock.

    Is this 3x400g cans or 3 x 1.2KG cans?

I know these have a much higher content of tomatoes but when I've used them making a chilli or curry I really can't tell the difference between them and the cheaper own label brands.

How are people getting it for 79p for me it comes out at 85p
  12. Kal007's avatar
Thanks OP. Never tried Mutti before as always too expensive. Can't say no at 79p a can.

£2.07 for me using the 15% tick box discount as well as the usual 15% S&S discount.

I wouldn't normally pay 69p for a tin of tomatoes but for Mutti I am prepared to pay a bit extra as they are definitely a much better product than your normal run of the mill tins.

    £9.06 for 12 cans on S&S

These are my favourite tinned tomatoes, great on pizzas, straight out of the can with a little, salt and pepper and olive oil. No cooking needed.

    add some fresh basil

There is no switch and save option on this three pack and a six pack is a pound more than last week. Oh well

never have so many, been fooled by so little, so often.........contents even glows (almost) in the dark. YUK! Apart from the masked sugar content there is something not right about the contents.....just used a tin to make simple pasta sauce with herbs/chillies (and fresh sausages halogen cooked and covered with the sauce this evening).......Nah! Bring on the day my Amazon supply runs out of these beastly tins..........
