About this deal

After the (much cheaper) basic model was posted today, I thought that I would post this one. With 25% discount at the moment, it:
1) no worries about lining it up with an artery - any orientation will do
2) stores 60 results for each of two users. Or have a morning and evening persona
3) designed additionally for diabetic, pre-diabetic and pregnant users
4) displays irregular heart beat indication but you have to buy a more expensive one still for showing atrial fibrillation.
5) doesn't do triple measurement (as Omron ones cheaper than this once did). Again you have to pay extra for that.
6) doesn't display an ECG. You can pay extra for that, but I reckon that putting the extra towards a dedicated 6 pad machine is a better bet.

I've just ordered one of these as my Aldi/Lidl Crane one won't download anymore because the company has taken down its server. When (if?) it gets put up again, it looks like it won't support its older products. Typical. There should be a warning on stuff stating that it is dependent on server support, that may be withdrawn at any time, without notice.

It arrived yesterday and I fear that it is going to be another bad purchase, like the Lidl/ALdi Crane Qv1ersion. Downloading looks to be totally dependent on their servers - so they can force customers to replace their monitor just by ceasing support for "obsolete" models. Plus they are ramming their "premium" services down my throat - a guaranteed way of making sure that I am NEVER going to pay for them.

It doesn't need correct orientation of the cuff, as advertised. It's faster to produce results (no average of three readings, automatically as the much cheaper older version did). I HATE the software interface already. It can, apparently (although I haven't enabled this) upload readings automatically to my "Patients Know Best" records - which, apparently, GPs etc could see, if they took the time to do so. Mine don't. They don't hold much value in patient's readings anyway - as they treat us all like unintelligent morons.

So, probably the last ever Omron ANYTHING that I will buy.
