    Comparing this to the Pro3, you get the extra pressure sensor on the Pro 3. I brush my teeth too hard which has caused my gums to recede so for me the pressure is non-negotiable (thus ruling out the entire Vitality range).

    This is a good price if you need just 1 brush without the pressure sensor. Been monitoring prices and you can usually get this price... As part of a duo pack. Singly this price usually gets you the lower spec Vitality with just 1 speed setting.

    Trouble is some reviews are complaining about the lack of silicone grip on the wand handle, making the brush slippery when wet. I thus need to wait for a Smart 4. Sigh. (edited)

    Do the batteries on these still die just after the guarantee period? My last 3 Oral Bs did that, it was as if they'd been programmed to do that

    This is a very basic model (they call it "essential" ) with 2D brushing and probably old tech battery since they don't mention battery life. Like all Oral B brushes the RRP is laughable. This price is nothing special. Look out for Pro3 for around £30 for the sweet spot in the Oral B range.
