Panasonic TX-65LZ980B 65-inch 4K HDR OLED TV

The LZ980 Series 4K OLED TV brings content to life, enjoy accurate detail, brilliant colours and deep blacks, thanks to the OLED panel. Hear it all with Dolby Atmos® surround sound. Connect with HDMI 2.1 for a thrilling gaming experience.

Right here. Right now. Ordinary becomes cinematic. It’s more than simply watching a show. It’s about being enchanted. Created by pro filmmakers, only our 4K OLED TV brings you a stunning picture that literally takes your breath away. With 3D surround sound to excite all the senses, it’s as if you’re right there in the movie scene. All of our technologies are made to move and inspire—turning the everyday into the cinematic.

4K OLED TVs have individually illuminated cells, to create natural colour and high contrast – where black, really is black. In parallel, our HCX Pro AI Processor instantly analyses the picture; finesses colour accuracy, contrast and clarity for step-up picture performance.

Dolby Atmos® - found in the newest cinemas, and on our premium TVs expresses sound with astonishing clarity, richness and depth. Sound effects are precisely placed in virtual space and time to envelope you in the atmosphere.

Cinema Surround Pro - accompanies the great picture to take you from sofa to the heart of the movie. Integrated speakers and audio processing deliver immersive sound - elevating entertainment to new levels.

Using AI,the premium OLED TVs analyse the incoming signal and instantly adjust the picture characteristics. Auto AI knows the settings for sport, filmic scenes and more - so makes them for you. Just sit back and enjoy the performance.

Advanced intelligent sensing - detecting the ambient room light colour temperature in addition to the room light brightness, adjusts the picture to deliver a more natural experience when, for example, watching under warm-coloured lights at nighttime.

By supporting all HDR (High Dynamic Range) formats the premium TVs assure best possible performance - regardless of picture source. Brightness and colour are optimised scene-by-scene; whether the source is Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10 or the new HDR10+ Adaptive format.

Intelligently optimises your TV for a perfect picture in your room at every moment. Whether your living room is completely dark or brightly lit, Dolby Vision IQ dynamically adjusts to the changing light in the room and delivers the best viewing experience possible.

Electronics brands and leading movie directors created Filmmaker Mode. A single button sets the film’s colour-palette, contrast, aspect ratio and frame rate as the director envisaged. The picture automatically adjusts even if light levels change.

Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode – Get the best picture from Netflix, see their high quality 4K shows in your home as the director intended. With intelligent sensing, it adjusts images according to the ambient brightness, so you can enjoy in any lighting environment.

How is this compared to LG G2?

G2 is brighter. A comparable Panasonic model will be the LZ1500 then I’d say get the Panasonic over the G2.

    I got an LG G3 65" for £1650 .. should I switch my orders?!

I don't think I would, as the panel on the G3 is probably a generation newer than this. I'd only consider swaping if you really need an extra £500 in your pocket.

How is this TV in regards to the other deals that have been posted this week? If I bought this would I regret it if a Samsung miniLED or LG CS went on sale?

I don't know what the Panasonic OS is like, but the Samsung QN90B one is filled with bloatware and ads. I returned mine and wouldn't recommend it.

Samsung Mini LED will be much brighter but won't beat OLED for picture quality in my opinion.

Good make, large size, longer than usual warranty. What's not to like here?

    Hot from me.

Jesus, not another TV deal! This looks like a cracker, not sure if I’d rather have an LED panel though as my living is pretty bright

As long as you don't have it in direct sunlight, you should be fine 2_Dog. If you want OLED, maybe worth paying a bit more and going with a supplier with a lenient return policy.

Do you reckon Richer Sounds would price match? As RS have the £100 off £1000 spend on AMEX making it £1065.50. (edited)
