Not in Belfast, Hollywood Exchange store - shame, good price.

nanals5

Not in all stores! I'm in reading now

melted

Ah! So that's what makes them "premium" panels. It would be more labour intensive to weave them than to make a modern simulated weave panel by tacking the slats on alternate sides with a nail gun. These would look better with more vertical slats though. If they are done right, woven panels are stiffer than the nailed ones and the slats can spring a bit, so won't pull apart when a plant grows between the slats. Just replaced our woven fence, it was ~45 years old :) , although we've now got close board panels @ £27 each!

Illegal to burn treated timber toxic fumes ???

Roger_Irrelevant

Erm, no. Burn them or black Wheely bin. Never, ever, pay a council extra to "dispose" of anything.

These work best when attached to a baseball bat. Get a home run with a cat or works a treat on burglars.

Mine have worked well for the last 2 years this company sell quality glad you agree with me

apocalypsenow

My neighbour made a complaint that my gripper rods had damaged his cats paws and i was made to take them down by the council , i have these spikes up now and the small warning sign . These are very good and a visual deterrent to any numpty thinking of climbing over.

dexix

I have these on a 6ft fence and our next door neighbours cat defiantly walks along it like they were not there.

Costco have the same size for ~£30. I believe the quality of Costco products is better than the others.

alfa111

B&Q have some on offer atm.

col11

Agree its cheaper on the high street and doesn't last long, only useful against a fence ect, if you want something a little stronger go to poundstretcher and they have Bamboo screening for around £15 a roll and it's really strong and doesn't rot for years, had some up for 3 years now

GrantG182

Home bargains, Lidl, b&m, etc, are all 8 quid for a 1m X 4m roll of the stuff and it's crap quality - the metal binding rots and disintegrates within 6 months, and they then fall apart the first winter. Alas, still cheaper at your local independent garden centre.

hannah_louise

Then that would be a great deal for sure. I did look in home bargains and they only had the very low small sizes. I asked if they had any larger sizes and there wasn't maybe at the time. The quality of these were very good.

I also called in to store but did not buy as they are not worth it. There is nothing to say in store that they are on offer - seems to be normal price

bubblesmoney

Went to store but didn't buy it. There is a cheaper version in-store for £1.99 which has 2 led lights inside and transparent cover. This one has only one plus opaque cover. Not voted either way.

What's five days got to do with the price of butter? I went to use my level today that i bought from screwfix and noticed it too had magnetic strips. Hence the update ;)

ThanksForThat

Yes I know £2.28 is dearer than 99p, but for all those who can't find stock of the Screwfix one- as is the case with most Screwfix clearance deals- it's not a bad second option. You've already responded to this five days ago, so are you just looking for an argument now or what?

You can paint your fence anytime of the year and you can also complain any time of the year if you do it at the wrong time. Chemistry and physics are essentially constant within its laws - you can paint the fence in winter or summer and have problems or you can paint it in Spring/Autumn and have less problems due to the fact temperature makes a difference in viscosity and absorption along with several other factors. 12-13 degrees in near the lower limits, fine to do, better if it was around 20 degrees

snowee

I managed to get the fence done in January when it was around 12-13 degrees. Pressure-washed to get all the green off on day one and stained next day. I wouldn't however buy this watery Ronseal, it's really like coloured water. I use Johnstone's Woodworks Trade (around £10 for 5 Litres) which is much thicker, so does take longer to apply, but lasts much longer

OperateOnMe

I've had that in the past, Wednesbury B&Q is notorious for this, so are many Argos stores. It is essentially staff seeing it as a deal and cancelling the order so they/family member can buy it. Report it, I did this once with Argos before I stopped shopping their and got a £10 voucher.

Not sure on the thickness (I didn't really think to check) but I don't think it was as thin as netting (it looked about the same shape)

Couldn't see any green when I was there so I'm assuming not but you could try ringing and asking, they may have it somewhere else

Any idea how thick that plastic is. It looks closer to net than the usual building site stuff at Screwfix/B&Q. Looking for something as cheap protection for the grass under the kids swing set. This looks like it may do the job, plus easy enough to store and replace as and when.

Despite knowing full well that it is the retailers job to put any issues right under your statutory rights (forget their store policy), this attitude is what retailers rely on. This applies with everything you buy - know your rights, back yourself, use a free complaint website like Resolver to keep your issue and the retailer's responses in writing (making it a 5 minute job to raise the case), and then escalate to an Ombudsman at the earliest opportunity if/when they refuse. An Ombudsman can also award additional compensation for any time you have wasted from their refusal to put this right. The law is so clear on this, yet many fail to enforce the statutory rights they paid for when they bought the item.

CoumbBarr2000

How did you install them? I put up 6 in our garden and they are still standing 2 years later, and we live on top of a hill where it's extremely windy. I dug down 2 foot and postcreted new 8ft fence posts in, then in the middle of every 3 panels I screwed in a diagonal brace behind the middle fence post. The braces were 2 more fence posts and were also postcreted in. I used green outdoor screws with 3 brackets each side of each panel. Thing has withstood storm after storm in the windiest place I have ever lived (we moved here 2 years ago, first thing I did was erect a new fence as the previous had blown down).

GAVINLEWISHUKD

Make sure you add some wedges between the post and the panel. First it stops wobbles and secondly it makes them harder to steal. Mate woke up one morning and somebody had stolen all 16 panels from the side of his house. :(

Nad_84

I used these 2 years ago, still going strong, used 3 X L shaped fence brackets on each side and they have held up really well, sure there are probably better but if you're in a budget and can install these properly they will last against a storm

TKDBlackbelt

Had wooden concreted posts in the fence here for years and no issue. What you talk about are much better but something wrong with what your neighbour is doing if he's replacing so regularly
