Pink Floyd’s Animals 2018 Remix on Deluxe Gatefold available from 7 October. This is the first time the album will have been available in 5.1 Surround Sound. Animals is the tenth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in January 1977.. It was recorded at the band's Britannia Row Studios in London throughout 1976 and early 1977, and was produced by the band themselves. The album was recorded by band members David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Roger Waters and Richard Wright. The Deluxe Gatefold version includes LP, CD, audio Blu-ray, audio DVD and a 32-page book. The Blu-ray and DVD audio include the 2018 remix in Stereo, 5.1 Surround (both by James Guthrie) and the original 1977 Stereo mix. The 32-page booklet features rarely seen behind the scenes photographs of the album sleeve shoot along with live images and memorabilia. The album artwork has been reimagined for this release.

    All that for 5 tracks?

5 4hour prog rock tracks of brilliant excellence (ok not literally, but most tracks are long). I'm not usually into the whole remaster thing but this is a remix and it really does sound excellent. One of the best quality vinyl I own, can't recommend it enough. (edited)

Stick with the first UK pressing. It's available if you look for less than this and it sounds better.
These classic albums don't need remixing and remasters. They sound good enough already.

In your opinion.......some of us actually enjoy the new mixes & think they are superior

Prog rock for the masses, one for the Prog Sheep.
Which happens to be my favourite track, the intro is particularly lovely.

    Originally called raving and drooling.

I seen Roger play it live with Snowy White in a brilliant concert in Dublin.

Try it more than a few times. I got into it listening to it multiple times.

Having said that, if your a fan of old Floyd (syd barrett or Rodger walters) then this won't float your boat for sure.
