Gone are the days of sale prices of around £3.50 even my local grocery shops used to do the 15 litre tins for around £16 and they've gone upto around £24... (edited)

I have quarter of a litre of olive oil left so I will be ok for another couple of years.

I stocked up on sunflower oil to use in my car just before the huge shortages because of the insane fuel situation but now it seems it may be more valuable for cooking after all.

Well, seems using lard will be cheaper soon

Much better for you to use lard. You'll use less and feel fuller for longer.

Keep reading. Use butter, ghee, lard etc instead of seed oils. (edited)

Whats the mpg and emmisions like on this stuff?

Reduced while cold, but if you can preheat it before it hits the injectors then it's good. But only if your vehicle can handle it. Obviously not as good as the real thing, but too far off. Cut it with proper diesel.
I used to run a Transit on the stuff. Large blue cloud on start up, then nothing. You would be happy to sit behind it in traffic, even if it did make you feel hungry.

If you mix it with petrol you can get away with a 5% mix as it thins it down a lot more than diesel

People need to understand that small Asian shops are not over inflating prices. They do not have the buying power of these multi million pound company's who can dictate prices. It costs upwards of £10 for 5 ltrs of oil from ktc direct at the moment.

Costco is doing 3 x 5 litre bottles for £30.99

if youre frying anything and not using lard, avacado or coconut then good luck also olive oil has low smoking point dont heat it up.

Avoid seed oils. Use natural butter to cook in

Pita to squeeze it into the tank. Might block injectors

No smoke on my Isuzu trooper with no preheating etc, shame it's now more expensive than the diesel so not worth it currently.
