    As one of my friend's so eloquently phrased it, some kids are dragged up, some thrown up.

    Unfortunately, some kids are ignored as inconveniences, whilst other kids are beaten-down.

    Many others are simply surviving now, alongside or apart-from (in care/fostered away from) their struggling parents.

    I know your comment was shared partly in jest, but in my work I see MANY MORE of these unfortunate child-victims than the deliberately poorly parented... (edited)

    How much space would you need for say 3 chickens?

    A minimum of 1m² per hen of roaming space not including the coop, preferably double or free range. Mine are quite content to stay in the garden, amble around, destroy the plants and eat the apples.
