This is a really good deal. I Iove retro compilations and I've been eyeing a few of these for years now. Getting all of them for around the price they used to put them on sale for individually is a steal

    Okay, thoughts:

    -Pros-
    Dirt cheap.
    Good selection of games.
    Good variety.
    Emulation seems fine.
    Decent CRT filters.
    Remappable controls.
Decent presentation (a virtual arcade layout).

    -Cons-
No save states or rewind function.
    No pause option.
No way to change settings when a game has started.
No way to quit a game once it's started - the only way to quit or select a new game is to open the home menu, close the application and relaunch it.
The hub (game selection) menu is slow and darts between cabinets seemingly at random rather than cycling through them in order of placement within the virtual space (not necessarily a deal-breaker, but it is disorienting).
All games default to the virtual arcade view, complete with CRT filter, which isn't the most optimised way to play.
No instructions for controls or guides for gameplay - it's all very trial and error.
Incidental, but the third time I launched the application and attempted to select a different game, the application crashed.

    -Conclusion-
As a straightforward collection of classic arcade games, this works fine, but is missing a myriad of even the most basic features found in similar titles (note: I'm including titles from decades prior), the absence of which is especially baffling considering the clear effort that was placed into the presentation. If not for the quality of the games themselves, the good variety on offer and, ultimately, the exceedingly low sale price, the lack of basic features as well as the slow and clunky interface would cement this as a terrible application. As it stands, it's cheap and functional enough to get the job done, but the developers have embarrassed themselves by missing key features and forgoing optimisation, and I can imagine a lot of players being far less forgiving than me having spent their money fairly expecting a more complete product.

The Retro-Classix collections are really 'all over the place' in terms of the single, double, 4 and 8 packs as there are loads of omissions / doubles across the multiples.

I think they were Hoping to do more collections. It’s a new publisher (Golem) taken over these coin op conversions so I’m not sure of the current state of it all.

I remember playing Mr Wimpy on the ZX Spectrum which was basically a clone of Burgertime. It happened all the time with games back then, certainly wouldn't get away with it these days.

    I remember that, too.

    Thanks op. Ordered

Not like Steam where they give you a discount if you got some of the games already. Bad show Nintendo!

This is essentially one game that contains eight games, so how would that even work?

Really needs a definitive collectors physical edition to do Data East's great work justice, Is going same way as the Namco Museum volumes.
