Remember to keep turning clockwise as you rod, to ensure they are still tight Nothing worse than losing a rod down there on top of an existing blockage

True. Also fit the plunger piece on and tighten with a wrench!

It's not just turning the rods the wrong (anticlockwise) way that will leave some irrecoverably left in the pipe along with the original blockage. Feedback suggests that the rods can come apart either by splitting or failing at the joints (inadequate rivets). Read the one star comments alone and imagine what your next course of action would be if it happened to you.

    This.

Do not waste your money on this, joints snap with very little tension on them. In home bargains they sell exact same one for 5

These are complete garbage - avoid

Most Rolson tools are carp so this should work well

I bought a cheap set from eBay. If you are only using them to clear a small 'blockage' they are ideal. Surely no one would let the drain become that blocked that they didn't notice and then attempt to use these? Most would only use once or twice in their lifetime, hopefully!

Happens all the time on HUKD it seems.

That double worm screw was very effective to clear off the gravel in sewage brought in by rodents.

Why show 20 rods when you only get 10

    To show both ends.

What tool would anyone in the know recommend for regular cleaning of pipes with a U bends please? Can't seem to find anything similar but very flexible.

Caustic Soda, decent drain unblocker, hamster with nail brush tied to it's back.
All can be used with varying degrees of success

poor quality, same as the Home Bargains ones.

I know the price doesn't compare but for ease of use i'd recommend going for karcher drain cleaning hose. Connects to a karcher kit and is very flexible and sturdy. I've used it numerous times to clean poop blockage through some bendy corners. Does take a bit of time as you can end up going through the wrong drain and have to backtrack. Might be better to get some sort of waterproof mini camera if possible to attach to the hose. (edited)

These will come undone and a blockage will be made worse you will need to pay someone to jet the rods out the sewer

The plunger always comes off in the sewer then u have big trouble

Just call your water company they clear shared blockages for free, they will let you know if you have a private issue, that won’t charge for advise (edited)

If tightened properly they don't come undone. Only shared blockages are cleared for free.
