Get out of Colombo ASAP it's a bit rubbish, I liked the south coast (galle, weligama) and nuwara eliya in the mountains best. Adams peak is well worth the hike but expect sore calves for the next couple of days after ascending 11k steps. Generally I disliked the urban areas, the trains are great to get around on and local buses are fine. Check out where the monsoons are when you visit, they were in the north and east when I visited in November time, I hear the east coast is great for surfing

It tends to be spelt 'Colombo'

Good price for those who could get it, direct flights on Sri Lankan are well over 1K and even connecting flights through the ME are around £700-800.

What are the visa fees?

Long haul flight prices seem to be coming back to pre-pandemic levels. Short haul still staying high at the moment. (edited)
