Preparation

Cooking instructions: From Ambient
All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.
Hob: From Ambient
- Before cooking: Wash or peel and cut into evenly sized pieces.
- Place potatoes in a large saucepan.
- Add enough cold water to just cover.
- During cooking: Bring to the boil, cover and simmer gently until tender.
- Low to moderate heat 20-25 mins
- After cooking: Drain. Check food is piping hot.
Other: From Ambient
- To mash - Follow instructions to cook on the hob.
- Put the drained potatoes back onto the warm hob for 1 minute and gently shake them to dry.
- Mash until smooth and creamy.
- Add a splash of warm milk, butter and seasoning if liked.
Oven cook: From Chilled
- Before cooking: Preheat oven.
- Put 2-4 tablespoons of vegetable oil into the roasting tray and place in the oven.
- Peel and cut the potatoes into evenly sized pieces.
- Place potatoes in a large saucepan.
- Add enough cold water to just cover and bring to the boil for approximately 10 minutes.
- Drain thoroughly, then holding the lid firmly on the saucepan, shake vigorously to roughen the surfaces.
- Carefully remove the hot tray from the oven and place the potatoes gently into the hot oil, turn to coat and season. Place tray on the middle shelf of the oven.
- During cooking: Turn half way through cooking.
- Cook until golden and soft in the middle.
- Do not allow to become too dark.
- After cooking: Check food is piping hot.
- 220°C / Fan 200°C / Gas 7 35-55 mins
Storage
For best before date: see front of pack.
At home, refrigerate for freshness.
