The Sainsbury’s toy sale is a big let down now. Gone are the years of actual discounts rather then pallets of plastic with high rrp

COLD - I don’t want to buy things that they’ve got in for this event that are 90% packaging. I use to love going in and getting 50% off their own toy range, great value and from time to time you’d get good reductions on Lego etc.. but ours now has an Argos in so other then Lego the toy isle I so small and all they ship in for these “offers” are plastic rubbish with crazy rrps
  10. trevor_douglas's avatar
Same as last year, it was half price toy tat. All the cheap rubbish toys that no one wants. Waste of time. Travelled 25min to sainsburys for nothing.

Not sure why so many people complaining this not as good as previous years.

    what did anyone realistically expect?

Not sure if you’ve noticed or not but in general this year with covid has not been a good year compared to other years.

Prices going up on everything, due to supply and shipping issues.

Think still some good deals still to be had here - however if you don’t think so don’t purchase anything, don’t moan about a wasted journey and stop moaning about the prices

The Community Support team review proof of deals before permitting such as upcoming sales, epic games freebies and only when proof is seen are deals permitted in the deal forum and if speculation these go in discussions. So any you see in deals you can be assured we have seen proof of the offers.

It's a fair point. It's probably more a reflection of consumer culture in our capitalist society. These cheaply mass produced plastic objects are sadly sought after by children through devious marketing and flashy advertising. Their perceived value is in the eye of the consumer and their children. We have been programmed to jump through these hoops in a sort of Jingle All The Way sort of dystopian autonomic Pavlovian manner. Sainsburys are helping parents feed their cravings.

In this context, here is some cheap plastic branded tatt to fullfuil your childrens dreams while saving some money.

will be loads of stuff they buy in.. nothing genuine will be reduced

33%-50% off - this is off the full RRP so actually closer to Amazon, Smyths etc.

    Don't get caught out
  17. 007deals's avatar
Sainsbury’s toy sale is a joke now! Sales on Lego in store are pointless when Amazon just price matches or it’s cheaper online. I want them to offer REAL savings on REAL products not this made up exclusive toys. It use to be 50% off most things and ppl saved their nectar and doubled up etc etc… my local store got an Argos so removed most the toys… such a shane

Every item says ‘Product Not Available’.
Tried going through the main website and clicking through to Toys and Special Offers but same thing. Then I noticed this banner:

    Looking for Toys?
Toys are available to purchase instore only.

I was always down there at 8am in the morning but the deals are no longer deals just high rrp on stuff they pallet buy in bulk for these stacks. When it was actually 50% off I use to fill two Trollies from the toy isle.. not going this years they got rid of our toy isle for an Argos and the items they buy in don’t interest me

Untouched piles? That picture was posted an hour ago, so the shop had only been open an hour or two. It’s a Wednesday morning. You can’t expect a stampede of shoppers no matter how good the deals are

People are probably right that the stuff isn’t as good but give it chance I’m sure the stock will still clear.
