Made by people who were proud to despise everything that made the original IP desirable. Strangely they weren't even named 'Disney', tho they did "go broke" shortly after due to disasterous sales.

I had hoped that the failure of this game might teach developers a lesson, not to sh*t on the existing player base. But just as Hollywood and Disney keep churning out duds that lose millions but continue to double down, so I fear the same will happen to the games industry.
It’ll be interesting to see if they dare to do to GTA6 what they did to Saints Row. “…Go Broke” indeed.

i see this so cheap and I'm constantly tempted as I used to like the older saints row games. I keep thinking "surely it can't be that bad", but every comment says it is

how could they get it so wrong?

At least since the PS3/Xbox 360 generation, It became not unusual for big companies to ship games that required day one updates for bug fixes. Over time I guess they realized that big titles sales didn't suffer if they spent less time in final testing. Instead it feels like developers have come to rely on the customers to report bugs, and those fixes come much later in many cases.

I vividly remember taking part in the Halo 3 invite-only beta, which was open probably a couple of months before the game was released. It doesn't seem like many developers do this kind of public testing anymore.
