Interested in NY but hotels are expensive asf

Try Travelzoo- you can find some good NY hotel deals on that site. Use VPN while browsing and pay in dollars.

Good deal if packing light. Just looked at options for a family of 4 (2x teens) and it came to £1400-£1500 when adding a hotel+breakfast for a 3 night stay in New York (Queens/Brooklyn area).

Try the Hilton close to Rockefeller Centre, more of a business hotel but they have family rooms and your right in Manhattan

Great price. Anyone flown Norse - how was it?

Oh and what size carry on are you allowed?
    Swidc's avatar
    Size is on the description

Need to include luggage to be a reasonable comparison i think

A lot of people only carry on these days

Check on skyscanner - there are some decent deals with Virgin Atlantic for £310 and includes cabbin baggage and meals on board

Flew with them to Orlando recently and it was fine, they have 787's and the cabins are what you would expect. Lots of people moaning but it was about things they should have know about such as paying for food etc. Even with bags, seat reservations and food we saved £1000 for the 4 of us over the next cheapest.

I would use them again but the worst part was no online check in. The queue at Gatwick was nearly an hour, the other end was 5 - 10 mins though.

Yeah amazing how people have no clue about the product they're buying. Online check in really is essential in this day and age.

One nights hotel will cost more than the flight in most of these US cities........

Just not true, please show me the evidence of this or is it just a random fact that you invented%?

There was a video on Norse a few days ago on WSJ YouTube channel. Some times these carriers aren't the cheapest because you have to add meals and luggage to the prices. They may struggle to compete on transatlantic flights as Norwegian Air realized. Amazing price nevertheless.

Fully agree with luggage but are meals that important? Most people have a dead sandwich every day at work and can do the same for this flight

Good price but wouldn’t like to sail

If you buy a premium ticket, you have to pay at least $60 extra to pick your seat.

    Crazy!
    spannerzone's avatar
Yes, all seat reserveration costs money with Norse...not cheap... you could argue that's what you'd expect with cheap transatlantic flights I suppose, cheap tickets, pay for what you need. Yes it would be nice if included (like luggage!) - but still can work out nice and cheap.... especially premium economy if purchased during their flash sales.

    airlinequality.com/air…ys/

They sound pretty bad... Might wait and if ba and Virginia kinda sorta pricematch.
    rs_tigerblade's avatar
Tbf it seems like most people are moaning about having to pay for baggage. Ok, virgin I agree but BA? Worst airline I’ve flown with in the last couple of years tbh, I’m booked on a Norse flight so that might change well see
  12. SpamJavelin's avatar
Wow, so many extras to pay for! Under £400 rtn Boston Marathon weekend not too bad but Virgin only 15 percent more.
    Also Gatwick is trash
    spannerzone's avatar
I think trash is harsh, it's certainly no T5 though. For some of us southern softies, Gatwick is easier and chaeper to get to though so all part of picture. £10 train fare for me, to Heathrow much more hassle and time.
