Works great in the Steam Deck if anyone is wondering. Using KDiskMark it gets about 90MB/s sequential reads and 55MB/s writes, which is on par with most other popular SD cards.

Do you notice any difference from playing games on the sd card compared to the internal storage? Debating whether i should go for this or spend more and get the sandisk extreme pro

Best price for a 512GB SD card (ever?), even beats Amazon Prime Day - and a great brand/model too, possibly the best mainstream one available. Shame everyone is trying to remove these from phones...

What do you mean everyone is trying to remove them?

I don't know if you still get free postage #Hexus member

I still get free postage and I think the minimum spend is about £25 but this seems to be free for me anyway.
  4. Mattkawa9's avatar
How do you get free postage as showing full price delivery for me making 256GB card £14.78 including standard delivery? (edited)
    Crossbow's avatar
Free delivery only on the 512Gb is appears, buy it from Amazon for £13.99 (make sure to specifically choose Amazon as the seller if it defaults to a third-party seller): amazon.co.uk/dp/…YN/

It is such a good deal, compared to other shops and especially with the free shipping, that I bought one as well, even though I'm not 100% sure it is supported by my camera . Will report back though lol
    Pikachou's avatar
Reporting back: Received the card a short while ago and immediately put it to the test! Samsung MicroSD Checker confirmed it's an original product and it was recognised immediately by my Panasonic Lumix GX8. Didn't even need to be formatted and it's quite a huge leap from 64-128gb cards. Recording video at 4k@25fps or burst photography was no issue either.

Transfer speeds through a USB3.0 card reader attached to a USB3.0 port, from the card to my laptop, were about 200mb/s. On a USB2.0 port the card did about 40mb/s. And it's such a relaxing feeling seeing the in-camera counter showing 9999+ photos remaining...

Now, only longevity remains to be seen (10 years from Samsung is not bad at all) and ofc never forget to backup once in a while, because the temptation to just keep filling it up, is certainly there (edited)

here are benches i ran on my 512gb card using a kingston UHS-1 speed usb3 adapter. i suspect this card would have faster read speeds with a UHS-2 spec card reader, need to find a cheapo reliable one now.

    Crossbow's avatar
Yes, they seem to be allowed again starting today after serving a ban for self-promotion (most likely?). (edited)

Amazon version cheaper if you have various codes.

Both made in South Korea. (edited)
    mccririck's avatar
    Various codes?
  24. Chris_BrownIQH's avatar
is this suitable for an external security camera? anyone know?
    Crossbow's avatar
Should be fine, but consider a high-endurance one if it fits in your budget. If you can share the brand+model of the camera(s) it may help to suggest something better.

Only allowed back since yesterday it appears, so you wouldn't have been able to if you tried.
  29. lucas4's avatar
Any good in a GoPro Hero 10? I haven't really had much luck with non-Sandisk Extreme cards in the past.
    Crossbow's avatar
Not sure how that's going to change. Have you tried all the other well-known manufacturer's extreme card equivalents?
  30. briggsage's avatar
    Any good for gopro please?
    plewis00's avatar
Depends on the model you have but some GoPros at full quality, FPS and resolution prefer the very high speed cards (eg SanDisk Extreme). This should be fine though for most uses.
  31. Markoffski63's avatar
These are starting to show up at this price now, A2 so plenty fast enough for the steam deck, don't pay more than £25 that's it's money.
  32. infectious's avatar
    £29.99 now
