What's the difference between Samsung EVO Select and EVO Plus?

Best answer: There is no discernable difference between the Samsung EVO Select and the Samsung EVO Plus — they are rebranded versions of the same SD Card, and Amazon has exclusive rights to the EVO Select name.

Would this be ideal for Steam Deck? Saves been tempted by a 2tb NVME at £180.
Steam Decks seem good price at moment

Yes, ideal for those and one of the best branded SD cards you can buy.

Sold directly by amazon too for that price so it should be pretty safe. I have one on the way to replace a MyMemory branded one that is starting to go on the blink...My second one from them.

    Sometimes cheap isnt always cheerful.

Just ordered from them earlier.... are they fake or just faulty the one you had? (edited)

can get an evo plus (same thing really) in same memory spec for £24.99 from here so that's probably a better deal than amazon in comparison.

Not if you plan to reclaim the VAT later - Scan was the best recent price at £24.99 inc VAT + delivery.

I can confirm that mine was indeed legit.

Couldnt find anywhere to check the serial number but I ran it through h2testw (which took about 4hrs...) that confirmed the sizing and the memory card is now sitting in my phone and it started up first time without going into 6 or 7 boot loops before the handset was ready, working and usable.

    Just to add some context:

The memory card it replaced was a MyMemory branded one that was purchased probably about a year ago. The original memory card purchased ended up causing my phone to boot loop after 3 or 4 months of having the memory card installed. At first i thought it was my phone going on the blink so i did a factory reset on it and the boot looping still continued till i decided to take out the memory card to see if it made a difference and yes it did. Formatted the MyMemory SD card and then it completely refused to be read or written to - i.e it was dead. It was still under warranty so I contacted MyMemory and they replaced it but the whole process takes around a month because Jersey.

Got a new memory card back, transferred all my music over and slapped it back in and everything was perfectly fine again... But then it started happening again few months ago and I didnt bother contacting MyMemory again because this would have been the third time i'd be contacting them about a faulty product. At the time i bought the original memory card, I also picked up a MyMemory branded USB stick. In between the original memory card failing and me sending it off, the USB stick had also packed up and refused to be read or written to - also replaced under warranty and replacement is still working fine although I now have serious doubts about the reliability of MyMemory own brand products and will be looking to replace it once prices have sufficiently dropped.

---- SO.... Samsung card goes straight in and phone boots up first time without going into a boot loop. Im glad i decided not to wait until the old card had completely failed before replacing because that would have been a lot of data lost.

    - Horses for courses but I would avoid MyMemory own branded products and buy a product from a reputable brand even if it costs slightly more if you cant wait for prices to drop but its worth it extra due to not having to deal with data loss and the faff of returning the faulty product in the long run. If you do not get full speeds it is because you need a proper A2 usb adapter. The experts are invited to make suggestions please because I need one.
