Genuine question (also possibly a stupid one!) but what is the north, east, south, and west in the bezel for? This is not actually a compass I assume? Just a design choice? (edited)

Getting more and more tempted by tortoise style watches - mainly thinking a doxa, but this is an absolute beauty to look at, not had the chance to hold one so cant talk of the quality, but it is certainly a looker.

Very similar to the "Willard" naturally. I really like these a lot.

SD1970 on Ali are also good value (sapphire, NH35, 316L, lume etc) for anyone liking the turtle style.
