    I wish Seiko would just do Sapphire glass, love a good few of them but after getting a hardlex one that quite quickly got a scratch, I stay well clear now!

    I think it’s probably a few things. Hardlex is a thing they invented so they have to back it. It might be a bit cheaper than making sapphire. It has different benefits to sapphire: hardlex crystal flexes so is more shatter resistant when diving or using a tool watch and scratches although achieved a bit more easily are more easily buffed out for owner maintenance on location.     Love the strap but am at the age where even with my glasses the dial is too detailed for me to make sense of it at a glance.
