I think I'm in the minority but I still rather enjoyed it, wasn't as good as I'd hoped but not as bad as people say. Would love to see a 4th.

Disappointing compared to S1&2 but at 2 quid it's worth a go!

I waited 18 odd years for this after that ending to Shenmue 2 on Dreamcast. Then ended up playing this for a couple hours with my kickstarter acquired copy, and never going back to it. It just didn't feel right. I wanted it to continue from where it left off in 2, but it had me doing a bunch of tedious tasks. And then the meta score put me off going back later.

I played 1,2&3 within a month of each other back in 2020, with no nostalgia this game is decent, the fighting is better than 1&2 and there are less infuriating quick time events.

It’s not a massive step forward in any way and in some ways (thinking the lack of SEGA games) a step back…. But it’s not as bad as people make out, it feels like the DLCs should have been part of the base game and not additional paid content, I played with the DLC and the game would have felt empty without it.

My main gripe was that it barely pushes on narrative, at the pace 3 sets we’d need another 20 Shenmue games to finish the story.

Question is.. is it really worth £1.99? Not really. As a huge fan of 1&2.. even im feeling ripped off the £0.00 I paid for it on Epic store.

Really cheap, but I just didn't enjoy it at all, even as a fan of the first two. I never ended up playing beyond the opening parts.
