Same here... not liking the rumours about a 6 inch screen on the new Nexus though.

You don't appear to get the freebies with this offer .

Best smartphone on the market atm - perfect balance in terms of size and performance

It's a good deal, those freebies from Handtec and Clove ain't worth more than few quid.

I love the idea of a 6 inch screen, in the same footprint as say the note 3/4. As it's manageable, even with my tiny girl hands.

The main problem is it will likely be LCD. LCD displays simply don't look very good on anything above 5" or so as the shift in brightness is always there and distorts colours in an obvious way due to how large the surface is.

Even the high quality LCD panels in the iPhone 6+, while the colour doesnt shift much, the blacks turn to purples because of the tech they used to give better overall viewing angles.

Its basically AMOLED or go home. Motorola aren't exactly known for putting the best screens in their phones either. Good, but nowhere near great.

Should be announced around 15-16th November. The Nexus X rumours may be mixed up with a larger sized version of the Moto X. If they have any sense they won't put a 5.92" LCD on it but a 5.2" as originally thought. If they do put a 5.92" LCD on the next Nexus then I won't be buying it and will wait until another stock Android L phone is out in 2015.

However nothing spec wise on it that makes me want to change my Nexus 4 for it. I can't see it being much upgrade over what I already have. Still waiting for Nexus X to see what that brings.

I have a ps4. game over in terms of phone choice. just waiting for the right deal. and also a little worried that the compact doesnt allow ps4. on the sony website its a selling point on the z3 but not on the compact.

PS4 Remote Play supports the Z3 Compact no probs (well it will on launch in November)

Don't normally spend much on phones but remote play on this could be better than vita because of being able to use an actually controller

Seriously...google Xperia care before considering this. I bought the z1 compact. Loved it, it broke, and Sony have messed me round since February, and still no working phone....

Any chance that the new Nexus will be waterproof? If not, this is the one for me

I want this phone but didn't get the amazon deal.......gutted, so I will wait

Anyone know of any good deals for sony xperia z3? Not the compact version.

Z3 Compact is nowhere near as good as good as the Z1 Compact - Or so I keep trying to convince myself as the owner of a 3 month old Z1 Compact.

Sony have been a bit daft making it 4.7", barely smaller than the Z3's 5.2" - I'd rather go for the Z3 as 4.7" is too big to be Compact so might as well go the whole way and get a Phablet! Z3 has better accessory support, for example it supports the wireless charging case which the Z3 Compact doesn't.

I didn't even know that there's a Z3 compact! I have the Z1 compact and it's the best phone I've ever had. Once I'm out of contract, I really can't see me having any need to upgrade it for a long time.

And don't be fooled by the "compact" name - personally I think this is the perfect size and is basically the same size as an iPhone.

+1 for this too. best phone I've ever had and I've owned a lot over the years

their after sales service is awful

i genuinely think if i could have put cm11 on my z1c i would never have sold it ....

My main concern was the screen but is in fact very good! My main gripe with this phone is that it comes with 2x Stereo speakers and still the sound quality both in and out is awful! I suspect this is due to the water proofing!

cancelled previous order after the so called security check ......... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WILL NEVER BUY FROM THESE EVER AGAIN

Firstly, the Z3C has a 4.6in screen, not 4.7. Secondly, it has the same dimensions as the Z1C because they reduced the bezel size to fit the bigger screen. Sadly, that pulverises your argument about the Z3C being too big...unless you think the Z1C is too big as well.

I've tried the phone at carphone warehouse and there was nothing wrong with the speaker quality? It's nice to have stereo sound and it comes out good enough. If you're after htc one sound then this ain't the phone to get.

Support and firmware updates are awful as well from Sony. I have an Xperia SP only released in April 2013 and was thinking of upgrading to the Z3 until I read recently there will be no more firmware updates despite the promise of KitKat on Sony's webpage when I purchased it.

So if it is network locked it means the bootloader will be permanently locked? Pardon for any of my ignorance but I have never heard about this problem with any android smartphone before; does this apply to any more android smartphones?

Do Sony phones have a locked bootloader? I haven't been very active on XDA lately but I last heard that they were uploading their source code for the Z1.

If there is no way to install custom ROM's, it'll be a dealbreaker which is a real shame as I thought I had finally found my perfect phone!

what are the differences between this and the Z3 (apart from the size) ?

Z3 has 3gb ram and a bigger higher resolution screen. Apart from that, i don't think there is any difference.

9 months into my contract with my Z1 .....love the phone. Always preferred button phones , and until my w995 gave up the ghost id avoided touchscreens since the dreadfulll vivaz. that put my off for ages .

If I was after a 2nd contract is this worth it or I have been offered £15 per month for a apple 5c

I can't believe the price. When you open these things up and look inside there is nothing worth several hundred quid.

If you think the money is to reimburse the development of the "special custom chips" just look at the relatively huge complexity of any £35 PC motherboard.

?

What? This has far more in it than a motherboard! For a start it has to have a main board, CPU, Ram, Video card - all micro sized versions. Then it has to have a decent screen, a decent camera, designed so it is waterproof. It has to have a 3G radio, bluetooth, nfc etc.

How you can compare the price to a motherboard is beyond me.

Is this not the normal price? This is the same price at clove

This remote play works on other android phones too. Someone on XDA ripped it

so its looking like this cant be rooted ?
i dont mind keeping stock rom but i use various apps that need root access

thats the only thing holding me off this atm

Which is better the Z3 Compact or Z2? What are the main differences?
