4176221-fhXXo.jpgUpgrade your game! An amazing upgrade over our well-received Sound BlasterX G5, the Sound BlasterX G6 immediately improves your audio, giving you a much more enjoyable experience compared to what you get from default motherboard audio or any other USB Gaming DAC in the market.

The USB sound card works with PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and combines a virtual 7.1 32-bit/384kHz, 130dB USB Digital Audio Converter (DAC) with our awesome Xamp discrete headphone amplifier for incredibly detailed audio. It also boasts Dolby Digital decoding, virtual 7.1 surround sound, game-voice volume balancing, Scout Mode, and SoundBlaster's 30 year legacy of impressive sound enhancement technologies.
All this comes together to make the Sound BlasterX G6 an incredible audio upgrade for both gamers and music and audio enthusiasts.

Old Games, New Life
The Sound BlasterX G6 has the best audio performance of any USB sound card or gaming DAC in the market. When paired with a good headset, the Sound BlasterX G6 brings games alive, delivering new audio details even from games you thought you knew inside out. The more audio you hear, the more fun you'll have. You may just win a little more too.

Works with Everything
It doesn't matter which camp you're in - PC or console - we've got you covered. The Sound BlasterX G6 features a wide array of connectivity options - optical, USB, and even line-in - which means your gaming audio will be instantly improved whether you're on PC, PS4, Xbox, or even a Nintendo Switch.

Impressive Surround Sound and Accurate Positioning
With support for Dolby Digital decoding* and 7.1 virtual surround sound, the Sound BlasterX G6 reproduces your opponents' footsteps, gunshots, and other audio cues with remarkable accuracy.
PS: Environments and music sound great too!

*Dolby Digital decoding is available via optical connection.

Supports Scout Mode
Activate Scout Mode to give yourself a distinct tactical advantage! This tried and tested technology enhances important in-game audio cues - such as footsteps and weapon switching sounds - allowing you to quickly and accurately pinpoint your opponents' location before they pinpoint yours!

Incredible Processing
Sound Blaster has been in the audio processing game for 30 years. All our USB sound cards provide compelling surround sound, clean up vocals, and enhance audio cues to give a competitive advantage in games! The best part: you get to control every bit of it from the Sound Blaster Connect software.

Convenient Controls
The Sound BlasterX G6 is designed to make things easy. The single audio wheel controls both the gameplay audio and your mic volume for easy balancing. Buttons on the side control processing profiles and Scout Mode, and switching between headphones and speakers is easy via the Sound Blaster Connect software.

Serious Sound Performance
We're not joking about our sound quality. The Sound BlasterX G6 was designed for the most discerning gamers and built with components that would impress even audiophiles.

Xamp Discrete Headphone Amplification
The jewel in the Sound BlasterX G6's proverbial crown is our custom-designed Xamp discrete headphone amplifier. As opposed to single amplification found in other gaming DAC amps, Xamp amplifies both audio channels individually. You'll enjoy more detailed audio on highs, mids, and bass.

Xamp will drive any gaming headset excellently, but it goes even further than that. The ultra-low 1Ω output impedance perfectly drives performance-grade sensitive 16Ω in-ear monitors all the way to studio-grade 600Ω headphones.

Audiophile-grade Specifications
The specifications of the Sound BlasterX G6 are impressive. It serves as a 32-bit 384kHz* DAC with an ultra-high dynamic range of 130dB. The DAC features an oversampled multi-bit modulator with mismatch shaping technology that eliminates distortion, ensuring that audio is streamed with the highest level of detail and fidelity. The Sound BlasterX G6 also supports hi-res PCM and DoP audio formats.

*Other inputs are not available in 32-bit 384kHz (Direct Mode) playback.

Not sure how I feel about this deal as an audiophile

On one hand it is a good deal if you specifically want this

However 90% do not need an expensive DAC amp and just need a powerful dongle to achieve what they want which can be bought for 20 quid on AliExpress for a good one
    FloptimusPrime's avatar
Apple USB-C to 3.5mm is a good dongle for around a tenner.

"hi-res" audio is an easy red flag to let you ignore snake oil gear, you can't hear it.

True but I don't think you can immediately discount something with a Hi-Res sticker on. They're just playing the marketing game. Some stuff is still reasonably priced and good performance

Don’t these models come with software specific for gaming though? Or they’re at least tuned specifically for gaming?

Otherwise I totally agree. I’m not going to argue with Hifi enthusiasts who like spending a lot of money on this hobby (because I’d be killed for speaking blasphemy), but yeah I can’t help but see the whole amp and dac trade as similar to the “gaming headset” trade

They have a scout mode that's tuned for things like footsteps, so you can hear things better especially in PVP.

Other than that it's a fancy glorified DAC AMP.

I've been using mine for 2 years now and I'm driving a pair of hard to drive planar magnetic headphones.

It drives them with ease and sounds like an angel.
P.s. whilst the EQ is excellent, don't even think this has any decent surround. It's atrocious, irony is that I thought creative flagship product would be really good at this!.

It's definitely not worth the full £120-150 rrp, but at this price it's about right.

I'm guessing it won't work with Xbox Series X (Dolby) because of lack of optical.

This a great deal, have been using a b-stock for a few years now and it has been great value for money

Picked up the sxfi Dongle thing for about 30 last year. Good stuff. Probably no different than this

It's 29.99 now. Posted link on here (edited)

I got one too, probably all anyone ever needs. Plus in certain cases I actually like using the SXFI mode.

But even just as a DAC it’s great. Plus it helps with it being so tiny and easy to power

Hoping someone could help, slightly off topic but I want to connect a sonos era 300 to my monitor (Samsung g8 oled) & laptop (xps 15) but ports aren't the greatest. I'm connecting via Bluetooth at the moment which is OK but not ideal. I've bought the sonos USB-C dongle but that had a huge delay, are there any other workarounds?

Using this for few yeara now, no issues, decent bit of kit. Never tried mic though as mine is usb.
  9. HF1oo's avatar
I use mine to drive 600 Ohm headphones and they get pretty loud.

I want something like this to boost the volume from a 3ds or a wii u pad, does anyone know if it would work via 3.5mm jack?
  11. maltloaf_df's avatar
picked up an ifi Hip Dac in a local secondhand store otherwise I'd be all over this as I've heard good things
    BarnSt0rmer's avatar
Just purely out of interest, what sort of money did you get it for? I love 2nd hand/charity shop bargains.
  12. TTimms's avatar
What exactly is a "gaming DAC"? it's like gaming headphones or gaming speakers... I'd guess it just means they're bass boosted and sound like crap?
    BarnSt0rmer's avatar
I think "gaming" stuff does tend to be bass heavy so you're probably right (and these days it usually means it's got RGB lighting on it as well). Although as somebody else already mentioned, some of the stuff will enhance certain sounds like footsteps for example so you can hear somebody sneaking up on you a little better than you would have done otherwise. Or so they say. How effective it actually is I couldn't tell you as I've not tested it.
  13. C0mm0d0re_K1d's avatar
Pretty pointless for the average joe, that can hardly tell the difference in quality of cd, vynl or compressed MP3's.

Do these really make any difference to the audio on a modern console playing cd audio quality anyway?
  14. Y2PANiC's avatar
Will they work well with Wharfedale Diamonds 9.0?

This is regularly this price or maybe even less as B Stock. I had it for a while, it's fine but nothing to write home about tbh
