Description

  • Scored by award winning British composer Stephen Barton and German Emmy winning composer Frederik Wiedmann. Barton accrued an extensive background as a producer, conductor, music arranger and programmer in composing music for several video games. He is also considered an expert in the burgeoning spatial-and-immersive audio field. Wiedmann has been a main stay in the DC cinematic universe starting with his work on Green Lantern - The Animated Series, which was followed by his work on Green Lantern (for which he earned 2 consecutive Annie Nominations). This led to tremendous DC projects such a Justice League - The Flashpoint Paradox, Son of Batman, Justice League Throne of Atlantis, Justice League - Gods and Monsters.

Star Trek: Picard features Sir Patrick Stewart reprising his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard, which he played for seven seasons on Star Trek: The Next Generation and in 4 feature length films. The new series will follow this iconic character into the next chapter of his life.

Pulled out of retirement (again) by a distress call from old flame Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden), Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) enlists the help of Captain Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and sets out to save the day. What he uncovers, however, is a conspiracy reaching to the furthest corners of the Federation, and the return of an old foe, long thought defeated.

I bought this the last time around for a few pounds more when Amazon UK were selling it directly from Amazon US. Overall it's not the best vinyl, with what seems to be invisible scratches on the record that cause pops at the same point on the record over a few tracks. A few others noticed the same at the time, but Amazon weren't prepared to do a replacement, just return and re-buy, by which point it had gone up in price again.

Hopefully that was just a bad batch... it is an excellent soundtrack despite the issues

Heat OP, Ordered. Might change my mind later though, the pros and cons keep going all over the place.

Great visuals, however the music was very generic 99% of the time when it wasnt a classic theme. Plus that 'Volume 1' certainly doesn't help the argument.

I did the research, the company has an official YouTube video (with chapters) of the soundtrack, and indeed a massive amount of random ones are missing. Volume 1 is missing the first five minutes of tracks completely??

I've got a really bad feeling we're in for a "volume 2" & "complete" triple dip.

The vinyl has 21 tracks, the MP3 album has 45 songs. (2hrs 30mins).

You can find the complete (45) version on this official YouTube video with chapter markers to decide if whats missing is important or not.

Brilliant spin off series. Last episode was about as nostalgic as it got. Underrated. This gatefold vinyl looks pretty epic too.

Yes, just finished it recently - wish it had been like that for the first two series as well! It was fan service (mostly) done right!

I didn’t mind series 1/2 overall, even average Trek is better than no Trek - especially when it’s TNG - but series 3 was truly what we all deserved from the first outing and if they’d made it a 3 season story arc and really delved into all the returning casts story arcs leading up to it… wow, how special would that had been. What we got in season 3 was amazing though

Season three also managed to repair the colossal damage made by season two.

S2 Question: Why are the Borg how they are?
    A: They are lonely.

Seriously!? So the solution they used to remove Star Trek's greatest horror movie style villain:

I am very happy they scrapped that and rebooted the Borg premise. (edited)
