Fridge freezers are probably drawing the most of the energy in a typical household. I would definitely look at energy efficiency rather the price of the appliance. Saves you a lot in the long run.

These days Chinese quality tends towards the same as the expensive brands whose pricing includes a hefty marketing/advertising premium, so you get the same mechanicals and electricals (maybe a year or so behind the curve) for a lot less. You do need to compare the power ratings to get a sense of their efficiency, though.

That is certainly not the case.

Chinese accept a higher failure rate of component to established brands even Haier/Hisense who are the premium end of the Chinese brands, not in quality mind.

Component quality is definitely a level down to European brands even with Whirlpool and Electrolux chinese models they are a better quality.

Kelon a chinese brand that Hisense brought make their refrigeration appliances.

TLC is Chinese, this fridge looks identical to the Hisense which is also a Chinese and 100 pounds more expensive. The Hisense one is really good I know for sure as I have one.

TLC are not Chinese, they are from Atlanta, Georgia.

Building one out of lego will be better quality than this, this need so be put into a void

If this is the same as the Hisense as it does, yes they are flimsy but they do the job very well and at this price good value for money.

We bought this and went away for a week a few days later. Returned to find everything mouldy and defrosted. Reliant say they will refund if we pack it. But we paid them for installation and they took packaging away with them. Anyone know what our rights are?

I'm in the market for a fridge freezer and have been looking at TCL ones as they have the features of more premium brands (digital inverter motor etc.) at a lower price. This one is just a bit too small and the code doesn't appear to work on the bigger version.

I have a TCL washing machine and a TCL TV and both are brilliant. (edited)

Thanks, just ordered this, along with old fridge removal for +£25. Not sure if TCB will approve cashback, but will see.

I do wonder how reliable this brand is and how long the refridgerator is likely to last, because of course buying a more energy efficient expensive refridgerator may work out better 15 years down the line. But this is still good for those who have a budget around the £300 mark.

Never heard of this brand? I assume it’s low end and unreliable?

TCL do make some good value TVs, not sure if their appliances are any good though

Perfect timing - ordered thanks. Was about to order the Haier from Costco for £389.99. they look identical. Also looks remarkable similar to a much more expensive unit also in Costco - handles integrated into the door itself was only difference from memory.

TCL trash with a 2 year only warranty and the worst efficiency rating possible. Landfill in a couple years!

A lot of big brand names are all owned by 3 or 4 companies anyway. A lot of the budget lines and some mind range models are just vestel, beko, hisense etc models re-badged or with different cosmetic bits to make it look different.
