£5.99 at HMV.

'Titanic' director James Cameron tested the waters for aquatic adventure with this earlier submarine-set sci-fi thriller. An unidentified floating object is picked up on the sonar of a US nuclear submarine, and the ensuing panic leads to the sub being marooned on the edge of an abyss. Oil rigger Bud Brigman (Ed Harris) leads his team on a rescue mission, aided by engineer Lindsey Brigman (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio), Bud's estranged wife. Whilst navy representatives attempt to salvage the 150 nuclear warheads on board, the force that had caused the initial accident begins to make its presence felt.

Not available on Blu-ray (though a rumoured 4K version is coming.)

I have this DVD -- it is terrible.

Both versions of the film are on one DVD.

To get both versions of the films on one disc -- the picture quality is terrible, the films are presented in a format that only fills about half the screen and due to trying to compress 2 films on a DVD some times your blu ray/dvd player may end up skipping or freezing the picture.

    Enjoy.

Both versions of the movie are on the disc, but not 2 films, they share scenes through seamless branching. Yes, the image isn't what it could be, but it's a dated non-anamorphic transfer.

Skipping or freezing shouldn't be an issue.

Got the 2 disk u.s. version at the time. Think it has both version, and another disk with special features, like 'making of...' (which I think is now on YouTube). IIRC main film difference between uk and us is that (at that time) only the is version showed the Rat actually breathing the oxygenated fluid (yep, that's a real thing!)...although Ed Harris didn't have to go through that...fo real.
